1978 Triumph TR7 Additional Info:
1978 Triumph TR7 Coupe. This beautiful coupe is a prime example of the "last true affordable British sports cars". The TR7's were produced from 1975 until 1981 in coupe and convertible variants. This particular car was purchased approx. 5 years ago from a representative of the original owner with 44,000 miles, and has been owned ever since by a retired ASE mechanic, who has spent manyhours improving on every aspect of the vehicle. No rust ever. As a two-owner car, it was never abandoned. For the enthusiast desiring something more than mundane everyday transportation, this Triumph is just the ticket. It can cruise all day long, anywhere you need to go, with it's 5-speed manual overdrivetransmission, in Air Conditioned comfort. Try THAT in an MGB!The upgrades which have been done to this car to make it a dependable, pleasurable British sports car are too numerous to list in this posting. You owe it to yourself to give me a call, make anappointment to see it, drive it and decide for yourself if it's the car for you.The TR7 is one of the few British sports cars offering comfort to tall guys - lots of legroom. The owner is 6'3".Some of the upgrades made over the years include:1. Power Steering (not available as an original option in these cars) has been added with adjustable boost control from the driver's seat.2. Complete engine rebuild at approx. 48,000 miles including clutch.3. Engine upgraded to UK/Euro specs-more power.4. All new brake hydraulics.5. New front and rear shocks & front springs.6. New windshield.7. New drive shaft.I have approx. $6,000 in receipts for new parts. This car has consistently won trophies in British car shows. If you would like more information, please email.
Reason for sale: the car is a "keeper", but the owner is finally too old to continue doing mechanical work.
I strongly urge an inspection and test drive of the car before purchase, either by the buyer or a qualified representative.
The car is for sale locally and the owner reserves the right to cancel this auction at any time.
