1973 Triumph GT6 Additional Info:

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this superbly restored GT-6 coupe in its fantastic original colors of French Blue with Black trim. This car was believed to have been sold new from Santa Barbara Datsun, and surely enjoyed until it came off the road in April of 1983 in a highly original state, still wearing its original paint! It was quality restored by a father/son specialist team in the San Diego area circa 2016 that were familiar with this model and had done a few others in the past.
Bodywork and paint on this car are excellent. The car was completely stripped down to the bare bodyshell, shotblasted, then received a professional bare metal/tub respray to a factory standard/finish in its original color. Panel gapping is very good. Brightwork has been carefully restored/renewed and refitted along with a new body rubber kit. The windshield is a newer tinted item with the rest appearing like excellent original glass pieces. There are plenty of receipts for chrome plating, cadmium plating, stripping and shotblasting, powder coating.
The car’s interior was completely renewed and is crisp and new. Details include newly upholstered OEM-style cloth-faced seats, new carpet set, panel kit, headliner, seat belt set, high gloss walnut dashboard, top pads and surround pads, console, door seals, new alloy/wood wheel with walnut shift knob, coco floor mats, modern radio, beautiful instruments and switches. It shows just like brand new and fit and finish is super.
Mechanically, the car is excellent. Receipts show it’s been largely rebuilt with everything attended to including engine, gearbox, driveshaft, front and rear suspension, brakes, slightly lowered road springs, bushes, stainless big bore exhaust system, fuel system, engine ancillaries, etc. The engine starts easily on the key, revs hard and smooth with no smoke or noises, and the car drives brilliantly down the road with no issues. PLEASE SEE DRIVING AND WALK AROUND VIDEO.
The car includes a thick folder of all restoration receipts and photos, along with digital photos.
Notably, this GT-6 has also enjoyed a decorated concours and show history. It was awarded Best Restored Foreign at the 2021 Dana Point Classic Car & Motorcycle Show, followed by Best in Category at the 2022 Laguna Beach Rotary Classic Car Show. It was also displayed at the prestigious La Jolla Concours d’Elegance in April 2022 and named Car of the Week by So. Orange County Cars & Coffee.
Overall, this is a rare and desirable car in this totally restored condition. This California GT-6 is finished in its original color schemes, and must be one of the best restored cars available today on the market.
