1976 TR6 in excellent condition. Records suggest always a western/southwestern car. Original paint. 60,000 titled original miles. No rust. No evidence of prior body work.
The car drives beautifully. Tight, correct, as per the original design. Very strong engine. Weber conversion. Shift mechanism, clutch, brakes feel virtually to new spec.
Extensive maintenance in recent years to make it a strong, trouble-free driver. The previous owner, a friend of mine here in Tucson, “woke it up” from a period of inactivity in Tucson and used it to commute to work daily for a year, and fixed everything that went wrong. He owned it 6 years. His life changed and he passed it on to me in 2023. I haven’t had to do anything except enjoy it.
Flaws: engine bay is not detailed. There is heat cracking on the seat cushions - I have applied adhesive upholstery repair tape and it isn’t noticeable unless you look very closely. (See photos). Tach does not work because a Pertronix ignition was installed and they do not have tach drives - there are several shops that convert them to digital, I have not bothered. There is one small sun crack on the top of the dash.
I’ve had many British cars and this is the first one since my 1973 MGB (which I owned in 1974) that I would not hesitate to drive cross-country. The only thing lacking is overdrive, which would be a worthwhile mod if it were going to have extensive highway use.
I am downsizing a collection that has grown while my available storage is about to shrink significantly. I would like it to go to a great owner. I have set a very low reserve (I think) and am glad to answer questions.
