1969 Triumph GT6 Additional Info:

Up for auction is my 1969 Triumph GT6 Mark I painted in Valencia Blue. I purchased this with the intent of competing in autocross but health issues have made that not possible. A lot of work has been done on the car in preparing it and the new owner will get a car in great mechanical condition.

The car has a Mark II engine and a Ford T9 5-speed gear box. It has a high performance stainless steel exhaust system with high-temp coated headers. It has wire wheels and new tires. It also has the very useful castor compensator on the rear wheels.

Initial work entailed a new wiring harness, restored gas tank and gauges. New front calipers were installed along with vented rotors and air ducts. Both master cylinders were replaced. While the harness and gauges were out a new burl redwood dash was installed. The gauges were rebuilt by Nisongers. Additionally a new windshield, turn signal switch, high torque starter, retractable seat belts, distributor and flexible brake lines were installed.

We discovered that a cam bearing was shot and this resulted in a complete engine rebuild. This included new over-size pistons, new valve train, electronic points and a street performance cam. The engine is tight and responsive. The carbs were rebuilt and operate fine. K&N air filters were installed. Naturally a new clutch assembly was installed.

The paint job is OK but shows many flaws up close. There appears to have been something stored on the top because there are some scraps and bumps. I can find no rust and the entire car was painted the same color at some point, including the frame. As my intent was to compete in autocross I was not too concerned with the exterior looks. The car came with GT6+ badging but is obviously a Mark I. The odometer shows 96,800 miles but is not accurate as the speedometer was not working when purchased.

Before health problems arose I had the car out for several track test runs and it performed great. This car can be taken to the track right now without hesitation. Overall, there is at least 1,000 miles on the new motor and it is well settled.

I have done my best to accurately describe the car and highly recommended a personal examination before bidding. We are only accepting electronic bank transfer for full payment and the vehicle will not be released before the funds have cleared. Once full payment has been received the title will be sent to the buyer while they work with a shipper of their choosing.

The car is offered AS-IS/WHERE-IS with no warranty expressed or implied. We will work with whatever carrier the new owner chooses and all shipping costs are their responsibility.

Iapologize for cancelling and restarting the auction. The previous listing said the car had overdrive, which it does not, and I could not edit the title of the listing and had to start from scratch to get a correct title.
