1979 Triumph Spitfire Additional Info:
For sale is a 1979 Triumph Spitfire 1500 convertible. I bought it from a dusty garage and wanted to get it back on the road. It wouldn’t start or stop! Those two problems have been fixed plus more. I drove it about 20 miles Saturday and she ran very fine. This Spitfire comes with a hard top with all glass, a roll bar for safety, a luggage carrier, a soft top boot, the tonneau cover and a bunch of boxes of parts and interior parts to put it all back together. The seats will need to be recovered or seat covers added? I have replaced and installed a new battery, four new tires, an alternator, muffler, gas tank, front brakes, rotor, calipers, rear brakes, wheel cylinders, ball joints, brake master cylinder, clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, fan temperature switch unit and I need a new speedometer cable. I have receipts for over $1,500.00. I have 3 Manuals on how to repair anything on this car. The person that had it last was going to do all the body work and then paint it. He stripped it down and sat on it for years! I have two spray guns to throw in also if you want to paint it yourself. Now it is still ready to do all the body work and painting but it is running, driving and stopping very well! I am interested in selling sell this one as is, I’m not going to finish it myself. YES it has some rust on it, the brown spots on the orange paint is where it need to be fixed. There is some rust inside by the floor boards but not rear bad? The frame is in good shape and the underneath had been Ziebarted. This is a fun project that can be worked on as needed and you can still enjoy driving it as the weather permits. Enjoy this sports car now and work on it as needed later. With the hard top it will be nice to drive in the fall season. With the tonneau cover it will be great for the summer. Also being small it fits in the corner of the garage and out of the way. A Great Father and son Project! I will need a $250.00 deposit and the rest will go to a secure bank account. Remember cash is King! Thanks,
