This 1963 Triumph TR4 was sold new in California and moved to Virginia with its original owner, who reportedly kept it until 2014. Approx. $20,000 in restoration receipts. Motor was just completed June 2019. A refurbishment performed by the second owner is said to have included a repaint in original Powder Blue, fresh tan vinyl upholstery, and more before the selling dealer acquired the car in March of 2019. Power comes from a dual-carbureted 2,138cc inline-four with new pistons and rings, and shifting is through a four-speed manual gearbox. Modifications include an alternator conversion and Minator wheels. This TR4 is offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, refurbishment receipts, a tonneau cover, an extra soft top, and a clean Virginia title.
The car was resprayed in its factory Powder Blue within the past two years. The white top can be seen raised below, and a replacement top and tonneau cover are included in the sale.
Originally delivered in blue leather, the interior has been reupholstered using factory-patterned Honey Tan vinyl from Moss Motors. Black carpets and plastics are contrasted by a white-painted dashboard, and features include a factory steering wheel, a vinyl-covered dash, and Jaeger gauges. The five-digit odometer is said to show approximately 88k miles.
The refurbishment work is said to have included installation of a new clutch master cylinder, new clutch slave, exhaust system, rear main seal, and differential seal along with replacement tie rods. Additional underside photos are viewable in the gallery below.
The previous owner predominantly sourced parts from Moss Motors during the refurbishment, invoices from which will be included in the sale. The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists original colors and equipment.
