1975 Triumph TR-6 Roadster Additional Info:
1975 Triumph Tr6 with Over drive For Sale. I have owned the car for under 4 years now and purchased it with about 17500 miles on the odometer. It now has about 25000 miles. I am ready to move on to something else... Just finished one of my bucket list items to drive coast to coast from Virginia Beach to San Diego/ Coronado Island and Back.
Just didn't know my trip would be in this Triumph.. The car ran flawlessly... Used a quart of oil getting to Phoenix, had the oil changed and used about a quart returning. Probably averaged about 28 miles to the gallon, high test. Good cruising speed around 70 mph a little faster if needed. The overdrive made all the difference out on the highway. With the overdrive its more than a rural British touring car its a very capable highway daily driver...
Outside of gas in the tank, oil in the carbs and Marvel Miracle oil in with the gas that was it on the car cost.
Prior to leaving I went through the car with a pretty fine tooth comb. First off the car in my opinion wasn't ready for a cross country trip so I put some money and elbow grease into it before I left. The car had its original tires on it and all the original hoses best I could tell. The car has electronic ignition done prior to my ownership. This car is mechanically excellent and looks really good. However prior to me someone repainted the car. It looks good but there are some areas where the paint was heavy and chipped areas where when I replaced the rubber and the paint lines don't quit match anymore. I have touched up as I could---If you have a good source for a paint job this a perfect car to work with. I have been all over this car and I've found No Rust.. It was Zbarted when new.
I will attempt to include all the updates:
Installed 4 new Uniroyal tires on car and 1 new spare in trunkNew radiator, thermostat and capAll new radiator hoses to include hoses through firewall to heater and returnAll vacuum hosesAll four brake line hosesCarburetors Rebuilt by Abecus RacingReplaced all worn front suspension, upper A arm, tie rod ends etc.Drained, cleaned and refilled brake systemAdjusted and bleed clutchReplaced all rubber gas line and gas filterRetrofit a 12 volt power supply/ for USB phone charger and GPSNew Robbins Convertible Top and surrounding rubberNew windshield and all related rubber to winshield and frame. All new rubber around doors, windows and top.
