1960 Triumph TR3 1960 TRIUMPH TR3A. UPGRADED 2.2 LITER TR4A ENGINE Additional Info:
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very nice TR3A Roadster. This car was just purchased from it's elderly owner in Prescott, Arizona who stated that the car originally came from California, being a Western states car for all of it's life. The car was nicely restored a few years ago in it's believed original color of Powder Blue. At that time, it was treated to new floors and outer rockers. The rest of the car looks great. Somewhere in the car's history, it received an upgraded TR4A engine that increased the car's original horsepower and torque, an added bonus. The body on this car is very good with nice shutting panels that all align normally for a TR3A. The older paintwork looks very nice and glossy with few blemishes or chips. It's decent quality paint that was nicely applied but wasn't color sanded or buffed. The car's chromework is mostly all new with a few original items like the windshield assembly and front badge. The front windshield glass is good but showing some age by now.The car's interior was also renewed in black vinyl piped in white, at the time of it's last restoration. This included reupholstered seats with cut foam bottom cushions, panel kit, carpet kit, restored cockpit surrounds in leather, restored top frame assembly, new fitted top and tonneau cover.Mechanically, the car is in very good shape overall. The healthy engine starts easily on the key with good oil pressure, no smoke or noises, and revs well once warmed up. The brakes, clutch, gearbox, and steering all function normal and well, and the car drives perfectly normal like most TR3's do from the era. A recent exhaust system has been fitted. Tires appears newer fitted on the car's original steel wheels with hubcaps. The car's underside looks fairly unrestored and normal for the age and mileage of the car.The car includes a lifting jack and handle, T-handle and some miscellaneous spares pictured.Overall, a very clean nicely presented TR3A Roadster wearing an older cosmetic restoration, in a refreshingly crisp period color scheme. This car has benefitted from a 2.2 Liter upgraded engine and runs and drives well. This Triumph will provides lots of fun and enjoyment for it's modest initial investment.
