1966 Triumph TR4A IRS 4-SPEED, OVERDRIVE, ALLOYS, LUGGAGE RACK Additional Info:

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very well-preserved, two-owner TR4A IRS with original mileage. This car was just purchased from only it's second owner here in Long Beach, California who purchased the car from it's original owner approximately 20 years ago. The car was originally delivered in the San Francisco Bay area. This car runs and drives well and has been maintained mechanically by it's second owner, stating that the car has been 100% reliable during his ownership and has never broken down. He was moving out of state and it was hard for him to part with it...The car wears a somewhat honest and attractive older repaint in the original color, now fading and showing plenty of age, and is fitted with TR-6 fixed headrest seats and alloy wheels. The bodywork on this car is quite superb and amazingly straight, with perfect tight bonnet gaps, the best we've seen. The body appears 100% rustfree and accident-free, something rare nowadays on a TR4A IRS. Clearly this car has been loved and taken care of for all of it's life so far. The windshield and chromework look good.Underneath, the car tells the same story here with a perfect chassis and factory sheetmetal, never having any repairs. The car's interior presents nicely with good condition seats, dash, carpets, panel kit, and still sporting the original steering wheel. The car's softtop is very average and could use replacement, an easy job.The car's engine starts easily on the key, revs well with good oil pressure, no noises or smoke, and roars happily down the road. Clutch and gearbox action are good with excellent syncros. Tires look great. The overdrive unit works instantly everytime, without fuss. The engine bay appears very original with factory paint, and could benefit from an easy detail. The previous owner upgraded the rear springs so there is none of the typical rear end sag. The stance is quite nice. The car is accompanied with two nice boxes of new and used spare parts.Overall, an extremely good, well-preserved and honest, two-owner California car that is a great driver as it is. It is finished in a desirable factory color scheme for this model with the benefit of a fitted overdrive gearbox. This super TR4A IRS has spent it's whole life here and would be quite difficult to replace.
