1973 Triumph Other Mark II Roadster Convertible Additional Info:
There's nothing else quite like a Stag. Though it's been likened to a Mercedes SL with a back seat, only Austin Powers would think it truly "shagadelic." It was, rather, conceived as a posh "gentleman's tourer," a sort of British Thunderbird. The Stag even had a V-8, one of the few born and bred in the postwar UK. Only 1176 Stags were imported to the US in 1973. According to the DMV only 54 are still registered on the Road. And Most of them do not Have the ORIGINAL ENGINE
Another collectibility factor is the Stag's literal uniqueness. Though it began as aconvertibleversion of Triumph's large 2000 sedan series of the Sixties and Seventies, the Stag ended up sharing few parts with any other Triumph -- or anything else in the sprawling British Leyland (BL) stable.
This Rare stag is a one Owner Survivor that retains all of its Originality. This is a Rust Free Example boding a very straight body. Sporting 69K Original Mile, this stag spent most of its life in a climatecontrolledGarage . Recently the Stag went through a mechanical Restoration and a freshening to make it Drive like a Real Triumph Roadster. New Tires as well as a complete Stainless exhaust have been added and new shocks all around to make this Stag a reliable road roadster. This Triumph Stag Runs extremely smooth and Shifts nicely with its Borg Warner automatic transmission. Motor was freshened up with New Pistons and Rings, rebuilt cylinder head, new bearings, new valves, new timing chains and gears, new tensioner, new water pump and thermostat. All this work was performed by a Professional British Motorcar Mechanic.
The Interior is in very good condition sporting wood accents as well as Original Smiths Gauges that all work as they should. The Black Leather Interior looks good with slight wear on the drivers seat bolster. Also included is the Original Factory Hardtop and Softop. The Softop folds nicely under the Tonneau Boot that retracts. Look at the picture of the Floor ---- you cant get any cleaner than that.
You will have a hard time finding a rust free / clean / straight Body / Rare Stag with the Original Engine. Buy it before someone else does.
