1978 Triumph Other Additional Info:
True survivor. This Spitfire is all original and even has the original shocks, owners manual, British Leyland bill of sale, drivetrain, paint, interior, convertible top, tonneau cover, suspension.
Runs and drives perfect. Everything works, even the 8 track. Has never been driven in the rain. 100% original except the fuel pump was replaced with electric, and the hydraulic clutch piston and master cylinder were replaced. The brakes were rebuilt back in 1996 and work perfect.
The only issues I am aware of is the dash has a small crack in the middle. See photo. And it has a very slight leak under the rear. You should fill the differential with the recommended 90W when you buy it. I have a four post car lift and would check it once and awhile and it was not really an issue. Also has a very small dent in the front bumper.
Wherever you see rust is surface. There are no rust issues other than surface. See the photos of the trunk and floor pans too, and you can see how its been kept dry, etc... Remember its a survivor and original, but not rusted.
100% original:interior never been tampered with - Beigedrive train - never openedconvertible top, boot, tonneau cover - never tampered with.paint - Brooklands Green - this is on the bill of sale - its very similar to British Racing Greensuspension - nothing replaced and original shocks. I wanted to replace but decided to keep it like it is. It drives great so I don't need new shocks since I drove it very little.original owners manualoriginal British Leyland receipt dated 20-2-78original Triumph floor rubber matsoriginal tool bag and tools - jack, handle, log wrenchoriginal spare tire cover
Parts replaced:K&N air filter elementClutch piston and master cylinderFuel pump is now electric. This can easily be changed back to mechanical with an original part.Fan belt - I didn't want to keep the original installed since I drive it.Radiator hoses - I didn't want to keep the original installed since I drive it.Brakes were rebuilt back in 1996. Receipt is included. They work perfectly.Tires replaced.
Parts Added:Blaupunkt In-Dash Cassette with AM/FM - works perfectly - not sure when this was added but the original owners manual is included.8-Track under dash works perfectly - not sure when this was added.
This car has been garage kept, never driven in the rain, and work perfectly. Its fun to drive but we downsized and its time to send this to a new owner who will appreciate its originality.
Bought the car with 37,081 miles and have driven it only 968 miles in eight years. Now has 38,049.
Includes a book with all receipts, original bill of sale from British Leyland, original owners manual, and some literature, and previous owner information. See all photos. I am the third owner.
Please ask questions and happy to take additional photos where possible. I have many more photos I can send. I also have a video clip of the car running and the 8 track playing. I can to send over email. I am not sure how to load the video on the ebay listing.
Clear title in hand.
I can assist with loading the car on a carrier you might choose.
No low ball offers please. I am in no hurry to sell this and it is listed locally. I will take my time and wait for the best offer.
Thanks for looking.
