1967 Triumph TR4A TR4A Roadster Additional Info:
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this attractive TR4A Convertible that was recently purchased from it’s owner of the last 12 years from Salinas, California. This car is mechanically excellent and is well-fitted with a very nice looking newer steel hardtop in excellent condition. The car runs and drives extremely well having benefited from an engine rebuild and new carb set in recent years. The body on this car is extremely straight with nice glossy paintwork. The previous owner purchased the car in this condition so the paint is at least 12 years old, but still presents well, with some minor blemishes upon close inspection. Panel fit is very good. The doors align very well and just click shut. Hood fit is a little variable but good. Trunk fit is fine. There is some evidence of a decently done repair to the LH inner front fender, with the fender bowl still being the original. There are a few chips touched-up from normal use. There is some very slight paint bubbling up and down the LH B-post area. The RH rear overrider was lightly tapped into the bodywork at some point, but isn’t that noticeable since it is down low. Front and rear valances look nice. The car is fitted with an earlier 4 grille and the sidelight/chrome strips deleted, which the previous owner preferred. The interior trim is in all around very good condition with reupholstered comfortable original seats in a pleasing dark gray corduroy material. Dashboard facia wood is excellent with an array of all functioning guages. Black carpets are excellent along with nice rubber front floor mats. Door glass and windshield are newer items. The excellent hardtop has a headliner that nicely matches the car’s trim. It is well secured that no shifting/rubbing/creaking noises are detected while driving the car and makes the interior cabin quite cozy. The car’s mechanical condition is excellent. The engine starts quickly and easily on choke, revs well with normal temp running oil pressure between 50-70 psi with no smoke or noises. The gearbox is robust and nice shifting. The clutch and brakes perform very well, even when driven hard. The car is a brisk performer on the road. It is fitted with a new set of HS-6 S.U. carbs that are well tuned. A few wires will need repair from vermin during it’s time in storage. The car’s underside chassis looks normal for the car’s age. The car is fitted with attractive body colored steel wheels with a very nice newer tire set. The wheels can easily be painted silver, as original, if one preferred.Overall, a very attractive road car in nice colors with a useful hardtop. This is a great running and driving car with nice cosmetics and is very good value, priced in the mid range, for these desirable Italian-designed 60’s Triumph sports cars.Video link of the Triumph driving is listed below:https://youtu.be/guVY5wZ-ylAPlease look at all pictures and call or email with any questions. The description above is general in nature and not to be solely relied upon by buyer.
