1967 Triumph TR4A Conv Additional Info:

Sought after last year of production rigid axle TR4A. Scarcely found in this straight condition, with the early type straight axle which was always the choice for racers. More predictable in driving and less troublesome than the IRS model with all of its parts that wear and break. This car was a former race car from the state of Kentucky, in its original state except for the fender lips have been rolled out (not cut) to accommodate larger tires back in the 60's or 70's when this car was raced. Could possibly be reformed to original rolled edge if desired. The most desirable color in seldom seen black, which may well be the car's original coat of paint. Certainly this car will be stunning when restored with all its chrome installed!
This car is being sold as is and will need restoring, yet it is in very solid and original condition, with a relatively small amount of rust when compared to the average TR. Noted is scale on the floorboards, right upper quarter panel rust as is typical (this is the only fender that will need patching or replacement), and a small area on the passenger rocker where they all seem to rust. I checked the inner rocker panels and they are not rusted through anywhere and are very solid. The frame looks very good front to back, and is very straight and solid with surface rust and I noted only a small spot about 2 inches long and a half inch wide that needs a small patch, but it is definitely not in a structural area being on a rear frame extension that is not supporting body or suspension. In the important areas of the body shell, such as the inner fenders, under the hood at the sides where the fenders bolt on, and the upper rear deck, all of those areas are very solid and rust free. I prefer to have full disclosure so there are no surprises, to the extent I am knowledgeable, so please ask questions or come view the car. It is a very good example for restoration as it is original and complete.I have not tried to start this car, but the engine does turn. It has been in long time storage in Kentucky, and then left by the owner to his nephew, from whom I bought it with great intentions to restore it to its former glory, but time has been short and she still sits. Now it shall go to one lucky owner.I offer this car with clear title in my name, and expect the winning bidder to pay a $1000 deposit upon auction end, by Paypal or wire transfer, within 24 hours of auction end, with the balance due in 10 days by cash, cashiers check, or wire transfer. If by Paypal, add 3% to cover their fees. I will mail you the title after full payment. I can assist with meeting your shipper if needed. It should be picked up in 3 weeks unless other arrangements are made prior to auction end. I am flexible but am paying for storage myself.Good luck!
