Unfortunately, it's time for me to let go of my 1989 Toyota MR2 AW11. I had planned on getting it back on the road, but I currently don't have access to a garage and would rather see it go to an MR2 enthusiast who can bring it back. I reserve the right to end the auction early as I am also listing this for sale locally.
This is a complete car — not a stripped parts car — and I'm including an additional engine and various spare parts with the sale. Alabama RUST FREE VEHICLE. Clean title in hand.
The MR2 has 173,080 original miles and an automatic transmission. It was running and driving until approximately two years ago, when the original engine developed a knock. I parked it rather than risk causing further damage.
I later pulled an additional engine from a wrecked MR2 at a salvage yard, and that engine is included with the car.
One of the best things about this MR2 is its condition and completeness. The body is in very good shape for its age and still wears its original paint. The interior is also remarkably well preserved for a 1989.

Before being parked, the automatic transmission shifted smoothly and the power windows and locks worked properly.
I'm being completely upfront about the mechanical condition: the car is currently NON-RUNNING and will need to be trailered. The original engine developed a knock, and I make no guarantee regarding the condition of the included replacement engine. The car and all included parts are being sold AS-IS.
These first-generation MR2s are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially complete cars that haven't already been stripped for parts or heavily modified. This would make an excellent restoration, engine-swap project, or starting point for someone already familiar with AW11s.
$4,950 OBO
I'm willing to consider reasonable offers, but I'm not interested in parting the car out at this time.
Serious buyers are welcome to inspect it. Bring a trailer.
