1988 Toyota 4Runner Additional Info:

Selling my old hunting truck. Beater with a heater.
There's some good, some bad and some strange.
Let's start with the strange. For whatever reason you have to start it in neutral, or the starter will re-engage and once it's running you can't put it in park. I had a gremlin, so I had a battery eliminator installed. I tried replacing the ignition switch and new key, didn't do anything, but now the new key won't lock the doors. The front seats were trashed, so I just got a decent set from a junk yard and bolted them to the floor.
The bad. The back window switch went bad and I ran a power wire through the cab, new switch and it worked. Until the dog ate the wire. I'm 6'4" 225lbs, not crawling back there to run another one. The drivers side door won't open. It's not wrecked, just something inside the door. The paints crap, it's an '88. As with most of these, drive 10 miles after a fill up and the gauge says empty. Luckily the trip odometer works so I know when to get more gas. I think the radio only searches for channels in one direction and if you use the battery eliminator, you lose all the preset channels anyway. I had to have the head shaved. That was 4 years ago and I haven't had a problem since. I had the transmission rebuilt, not sure it that's goo, bad, or strange.
less than 130,000 miles. I have no reason the think the PO changed it. clear title in my name.
Some good. The tires are in pretty good shape. The 4-wheel drive is bullet proof, lock in hubs work perfect. Unless it sunk to the frame, I don't think you could stick it. If you live within an hour I'll drive it there, but you'd have to promise not to take a video of me trying to get out of it. If you think you're going to drive it home 3 states away...... bring a trailer. The brakes have all been replaced. Pads and rotors. The hubs had separated from the rotors. Mech asked how I even stopped it, had to put it in neutral. His worker made him call me before the repair because cost was going to be a significant amount of the value. Frame is seemingly in great shape for southern IL
You don't have to put a deposit down, just bring cash. If you don't want it when you show up, NP. I won't ding your rating, you don't ding mine.
Price is reasonable, The wife just wants it out of the driveway, especially after I bought a different hunting rig.
I haven't sold anything on Ebay in so long, I don't know what the rules are now, so I guess send me a message through here if you have any questions and I will try to respond.
I've had it for about 8 years and it worked for what I wanted. Want to turn it into a mud buggy or rock crawler? It probably would be great.
I did buy my new rig out of New Orleans and had it shipped. Got lucky and found a honorable rep thru a friend, shipping a year ago from NO was $650, if that gives you an idea. I still have his number. I wouldn't recommend it for this, but your choice.
Looking down, ebay says I have to put a minimum deposit in 48 hours of $100. I don't care, I just have to put it in.
