This is definitely a head turner. Family is selling as part of an estate sale. This 1973 FJ40 Land Cruiser was babied by its late owner until he could not take care of it any longer. Its in running condition but hasn't been run much in last 2 years so we would recommend getting all fluids changed and doing full tune up.Here is what we know...PROS- Runs and Drives (pretty fun actually according to our test drivers)- 4WD works and it has a roll bar- No Significant Rust or Rot - it was coated both underneath and inside the cab years ago and they did their job. The coating inside is old enough now though its starting to peel.- Body in very good condition - with new paint and little attention to its details this could be factory restored without a lot of effort- Nice cover comes with it- Tires are almost new- Extra parts and owner's toolkit for it comes with itCONS- The speedometer and odometer has stopped working. This seems to be a common problem with these. Late owner had bought a replacement but not replaced. Replacement is included with the extra parts that go along with car.- Original paint is peeling in a couple places. Mostly the clearcoat but some of the red. Its 52 years old. Still looks really good for that as you can see in the pics. Up close the peeling is obvious.- Its a 3-speed and is not like your usual manual to drive. You need to be a good manual transmission driver to handle this beast.- Needs fluids flushed and new ones added since its been sitting most of the last 2 years. That said, battery works and it starts up pretty well- Top's paint also cracking. Land cruiser owner said might be easier to just get another top.- We really cant tell you much more about it other than we know the owner, he had it a while, and he took care of it.
