Selling my incredibly rare 1985 Toyota 4wd Turbo Diesel pickup truck. This isn’t a JDM import, this a real US market Toyota pickup with the 2LT diesel engine. It was sold new to one of the employees at the Bend, Oregon dealership in 1985. There were only hundreds of these truck sold new in the US, not thousands. Although they are a very common truck equipped sold by the thousands in other countries. The original owner kept the truck until about 7 years ago when I had acquired it. The sale was brokered by his nephew. I kept the truck tucked away in my barn for a few years until I pulled it out and gave it a once over to get it ready to drive. I was ready to beat the high fuel prices since I was driving a full size at the time. While under the original owner’s stewardship he replaced the timing belt, head, and turbo at the 100k mile mark. He used the last new OEM head in the dealership system at the time. Since I’ve owned it I’ve done a light cosmetic patina style resto on it. I cleaned the paint, gave it a scratch with the red scrub pad and shot clear on it to lock in the patina where it is now. The paint has a nice shine to it now as it is. I added gold decals and powder coated the SR5 wheels good as well. The truck has always been a no rust western states truck only residing in Oregon and California. I also pulled the bed off of the truck, cleaned the frame and painted it from the cab back. Frame had no rust to speak of. I also cleaned the bottom of the bed well and also undercoated it. Lastly Most of the blue paint under the clear coat is original. The only blue paint that has been touched up was behind the rear wheels on both sides of bed on bed corners below the seem line. Some light body work was done in both of those areas and repainted. The truck is mechanically sound, it’s turn key. It’s a buy and drive anywhere truck. It cold starts well, has no blow by, and the glow plug system works as it should. It doesn’t leak fluids, and it really drives wonderfully over all. Tires are in great shape, batteries are newer as well. The diesel 4x4’s were all sold as a single cab long bed DLX model. No SR5’s were sold new in the US with this engine. It has some options, but not a ton. It has rear sliding glass, cloth seat with arm rest, vinyl floor, toyota vinyl floor mats, tilt wheel, intermittent wipers, manual locking hubs, 5 speed, and the 2LT engine. Everything you need, and nothing you don’t. It doesn’t have air conditioning on it. I’ve added the decals, and SR5 wheels. I’m easy to deal with you be as well. If you want to fly in to pick it up I can get you at San Jose or Monterey. If you want to know more about the truck message me, I’ll get back. I prefer to talk on the phone, but will message as well. Please do not just hit the buy it now. Call me old fashion but I’d like to talk on the phone first before consummating a deal. Please include a name AND phone number in your message. Clean clear title in hand, price is absolutely 100% firm at the $24,995 mark. This isn’t a truck that comes up for sale often and especially not in this condition. If you’re considering this truck you know exactly what it is. A very rare one year only turbo diesel toyota with a straight axle up front. Thanks for reading through, looking forward to your message.
