Classic FJ62 that has a “J” as the first letter of the VIN. If you are a Toyota/Lexus enthusiast you know that this means the vehicle was actually manufactured in Japan. Despite having extremely low original miles (see picture of odometer reading with only 155K) the vehicle needs an engine. I stored it in my garage too long versus driving it and although it is not locked up the compression is low. The new owner may want to install a remanufactured 4.0 liter 6 cylinder engine, rebuild the existing 4.0 liter 6 cylinder engine, or convert to an LS engine.
As you can see in the pictures, this is a 36 year old Toyota with some rust but is a beautiful Land Cruiser that has been in storage the majority of its life. It has OEM wheels, is all original without any modifications, and the original dash is not cracked like most. I am the 4th owner. The vehicle has never been in an accident. I have never taken it off-road. My family and I drove it to/from a ski resort in a snow storm once and of course, it was amazing how well it performed. Weighing about 5000 lbs with a solid front axle might have been a factor. The BFG AT KO2 tires have over 1/2 of their original tread depth remaining.
I can do routine maintenance but the reason I am selling is I do not want to pay the labor plus the cost of a rebuild or replacement engine. We have other classic Toyota and Lexus vehicles including a 1997 Lexus LX450 that I am going to focus on after selling this 88 FJ62 LC. Happy Bidding!
