Up for sale is this 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40! This belongs to a friend who owned it for more than a decade. Truck used to be mustard and he had it painted in Toyota red a while back.Of note is the Aqualu aluminum body tub, which makes worrying about rust a little less stressful. The truck has had its fair share of maintenance over the years, and mechanically it is pretty damn sound. It's got a Webber 38 and it is fully desmogged. Starts right up, even after months of sitting! It has great brakes, great working parking brake, a rebuilt motor (by the PO more than 10 ya) but still a stump puller. Truck has barely had more than 3 to 4 k miles added in the last 10 years! Shifts beautifully, drives real nice. Good, tight steering, etc. The chassis had been sprayed in the past and then undercoated. It does not have a hard top, an aluminum plate has been installed in lieu of the bikini top it used to have. The front seats have been recovered, however there is some rust on the seat frames. This is a solid truck, for use whenever, for many years to come.Now for the not so good.The jump seats have seen better days, with the lower seating surface of the passenger one completely detached from its frame.The headlight relay needs replacement, lights no longer turn on, however the dash lights work.The brake lights and reverse lights workThe turn signal flasher need to be replaced as well.The wiper switch is rotten.The heather switch needs to be replaced, heater used to work just fine.These bits of hardware are available everywhere for quick and easy fixes, I just do not have the time top address them.I am going to try and get a video up and add it to the listing.Please contact me with questions.Thanks for looking, and happy bidding.
