The Fj60 was Toyotas first Foray into turning their Spartan "LandCruiser" nameplate into a more usable, luxury SUV, some may argue starting the movement that defines the auto industry today. The 60 series cemented the LandCruiser as the best vehicle you could buy if you wanted a vehicle to last you forever. It is not odd to see these vehicles still running just fine with well over 250k miles on the clock.
Presented here is a 1983 Carbureted model with quite low miles. Only sporting 108k since it was sold new, this LandCruiser has moved quite a few less miles than most. This can be seen quite obviously in the interior, where it has held up very nicely for a car that is nearly 40 years old at this point. The cloth/vinyl seats are in quite nice condition, with the only tear being in the drivers outside bolster, from the ingress and egress of the driver over the years.
This car was recently brought back to the road after sitting for a short amount of time, and recent servicing includes an oil change, a Carburetor rebuild, and the fuel tank being drained and cleaned.
This particular car was bought new in Colorado, and has only had two owners since new, with the second owner taking ownership of the vehicle around 30,000 Miles. Surface rust is present on the chassis but it all appears to be structurally sound. The floors are all intact and solid, with really the only major rust coming through the rear side of the rear wheel well, quite typical on this model. This vehicle does need a new set of tires(Current ones are old) and the spare wheel is missing
Clearly this car could use some help cosmetically on the exterior, but virtually everything on this car works save for the Air Conditioning. The engine starts up and runs smoothly, the transmission and transfer case shift very smoothly, and the brakes stop the car effectively without pulling in a certain direction.
With the value of these vehicles quickly rising this is a great opportunity for someone to get into a good running and driving example before they became unreasonably expensive. SUVs from this era are one of the fastest growing markets in the collector car world right now.
