1991 Toyota MR2 Additional Info:
This is a greatopportunityto own an MR2. This is a NON-TURBO MR2, These are getting harder and harder to find, and are expensive when you do. I purchased this from copart insurance auction. They sell it only with a bill of sale in my name, and it is up to me to get this inspected and titled in NYS. I WILL NOT BE DOING THAT. I will give you a bill of sale and all paper work ireceivefrom them. with this information hopefully you will be able to get a title in your state. You might be able to put a lien on this and get it titled in that way as well. This car was picked up by the city of NY by way of what's called a ROW TOW, and what happens is that once the car is in the City's possession, they do not let it go unless the person picking up the car has the proper paperwork. And some idiots put cars under there girlfriends name who they are no longer with. Or illegally register it in another state and then when something like this happens the city just auctions it off, because no one can pick up the car.
I had a key made for the drivers side door, but the keyhole for the passenger side door wasbondo-ed over and there was no cylinder. So the code for the ignition key is on the passenger side door andunfortunately i wasn't able to get an ignition key. I took the dashboard apart to getaccess to the rear of the cylinder and it looks like somebody already had done this because the electrical just fell out of the socket. Fourtunaley and unfortunaley I was able to get power to the car and crank it this way, but the car won't turn over. I DID NOT CUT ANY WIRES, I WAS ABLE TO DO THIS BY PLACING THE BRASS/COPPER RING ON THE CONNECTORS AND TOCHING THE BRASS/COPPER RING WITH THE BRAS/COPPER DOT. I'm not even sure if this is how you'd start this car but that's what i was able to do to get the motor to crank. The steering wheel is still locked. The motor hasheaders but while trying to turn the car over the motor didn't sound all that great. I didn't do any further diagnosis. The key hole to the trunk is also missing/broken, the drivers side door has not interior panel and the window switch is broken, so is the lever for the gas tank and trunk release. Somebody painted over this car with the crappyest paint can they can find. Looks like they spray paninted over a burgandy bumper and hood. There is overspray all over the place.
NOW for the Good. There apears to be brand new D2 coilovers all around. the reason i say appear is becuase from looking underneath the wheel well the springs and shocks look reallyshiny as if they haven't been on the car for long. The car has 17inch rims and tires the rims are Deepdish i'd guess about 5 to 6 inch lip, in decentshape and the trires have great tread on them. Also the car hasn't been hit anywhere soe fenders, doors hood quater pannels you name it body is solid and don't appear to be rusted out. Seats are in good shape only the drivers side is missing some foam from rubbing while getting in and out of the car. All the glass in the car is in great shape. Again this is by no means a car to have on the road in a week or 2. but it will make a decent project and at this starting price just parting it out you'll make some money (wich is what i don't want to do but will if it doesn't sell) This is my lowest price on the car before I decide to part it out or maybe even park it at my other place in monticello while i send away for the title and work on it myself. I hope it doesn't come to that but again it cost me 50 dollars to list on ebay and i have money spent in this car already, I'm not going to say my loss is your gain because I won't lose on this deal. this car is in too much demand for me to take a loss on it. Thanks for looking and good luck
I have the car listed locally and someone is saying they are going to pick this up on tuesday, not look at it but pick it up. But i want to list this just incase that falls through. Ive had a few people look at it and are obviouslyinterested but decided against it. So I reserve the Right to end auction early if this sells locally.
AGAIN, I will not help title this vehicle in NYS, that is up to you to do I can only give you a bill of sale and any paper work I get from Auction company
