I bought this american fj40 series land cruiser about 11 years ago. since then it has undergone quite the transformation. It was stretched (by a local welder that usually does truck flat-beds and trailers) 20" between the wheels and 6" to the end of the frame so theres something to step on to get in. it is more like a fj43 now but if you like you can run the truck top and it would be a fj45. There are 6 seat belts. and I have had 4 people in the back before. The body was stretched a total of 24". there was a truck top fabricated. and a full top was started to be fabricated but never finished. It has a strong 427 big block chevy in it. nv4500 5 speed with lower 1st gear to crawl. miles to gallon is about 18 depending how you drive. dual stainless glasspack exhaust. motor and trans were rebuilt at that time. power steering. currently licenced and driven. Front shackle reversal = 3" lift, and better handling. still has 4:11 gears in it. ARB rear locker. 4wheel disc brake conversion. painless wiring harness. dakota digital instruments. new rebuilt everything in 2011. 33" tires. spare tire with cage for a cooler. new steel from the cowl back. 11 gauge tube body frame. 1/4 thick steel floor. reinforced frame. k body support to rear cross-member for true stump pulling ability. rust free doors -custom all steel exterior door handles that wont break like oe. dash vents stock to defrost doors. heater front/rear. oe soft top bows and canvas top. a flush mount storage tank in rear. rear heat. heated seats. cd player. tuffy console. fog lights. new battery. to have the level of build on any fj youd be spending close to 80k, but this one is 10 years of wear on that resto. There are a few dings, but if it were perfect the price would be way higher. However it is a solid and safe fj. I have driven this out of state several times cruising around/above 65 mph. you couldnt do that with a stock landcruiser 2F motor.
What it needs to win best in show again:touch up body work to fendersmild body work to cowl (pulling a dent).new windshield surround oe windshield has some pitting.
I will be including:full hard doors pictured in first picture.halftop truck top needs glass and repaint . hardtop sides-full length that would need more work than halftop.fiberglass top for both is there, each of those tops needs work.
