1987 Toyota Celica GT Additional Info:
1987 Toyota Celica GT. Hatchback - 5 Speed Manual Transmission- Canadian Car, Speedometers in KM!
I've owned this car since 2012 and only drive it in the Summer, it is garage kept the rest of the year so for 32 years old it is emaculate!
Engine:
4 cyl. 3S-FE / 3S-GE
Capacity:
2.0 litre
Transmission:
5 spd. man
- Electronic power side mirrors, tilt steering wheel, driver's lumbar support and an automatic retracting radio antenna. Side mirror defogger, cruise control, electronic air-conditioning, and 13"x5.5" aluminum alloy wheels 185/70-13 tires. Includes a front strut bar across the two strut towers, has front ventilated disc and rear drum brake combination
- The Body and Paint are in great condition, no rust! a few paint nicks on Passengers Door and Drivers door is all which I have touched up. The Hood, Hatch and Side panels were all freshly painted in 2014.
- Mechanically it is sound considering its age. The engines very strong and regularly maintained. Oil Changes done every 3000 miles. Plugs, Wires and Cap replaced last year. Alternator and Serpentine Belt replaced this year. Front Brakes replaced 2 years ago, have had the rear brake parts since I've owned the vehicle and never had a need to install them. Also added a cold air intake and new steering wheel this year. All 4 tires were replaced last year, the rears are still in excellent condition but the car needs a wheel alignment so the fronts will need to be replaced. (They are 13 inch wheels, the tires are cheap)
- So the things it will need to be in top running condition are as follows:
- Eventually will need a new clutch.
- Blower Motor (Does not blow any air), If you like A/C, the system will need to be converted and charged. This never bothered me I just rolled do the windows.
- When you turn the switch for the lights only the rears turn on. I went through all the wiring, replaced the switch the relays and fuses and still could not get the headlights or bright's to work. So I ran 14 gauge wire through the firewall to a toggle switch that I mounted on the dash, it works flawlessly and passes Inspection.
- Will need 2 front tires and a wheel alignment.
- Eventually may need a starter or solenoid
-This car is from Canada so the speedometer is in KM, its similar to an American car only the KM's are on top and the MPH are on the bottom. The odometer is also in KM and it says it has 226,611 on it. Which converted to miles equals 140,809 miles.
It pains me to sell it as its a great classic car, but I just don't have the time anymore for a summer vehicle. I'm asking $2800, will not accept trades so please do not ask.
