1985 Toyota FJ40 Additional Info:
Restored to a quite a high standard, this freshly imported 1985 Toyota FJ40 really knows how to be an excellent standout on the street and trail. This Land Cruiser underwent a restoration to make it crisp, fresh, and upgraded. The best place you see that is with the paint. The blue has a great shine that looks great in the sunlight - exactly what you want on an outdoor-ready Land Cruiser. Plus, the white roof, grille, and wheels give this a hint of cool two-tone flair. There's even more style in the details, like the metallic paint on the bumpers and bright securing hooks on the hood. While this looks great, it's also built to be a true ready-for-anything FJ40. The tow hooks up front, ridged steel constriction, and full-sized swing-away spare tire are all part of what gives this icon it's go-anywhere reputation. The interior has a clean and fresh feeling that reminds you there's more investment in this one. Nicely bolstered bucket seats up front and an armrest center console in-between remind you why you want a later FJ. Plus, it still has the cool/classic facing jump seats in the rear. You can still remove the roof if you want to, but the way the fresh rubber feels around the doors and seals, it's likely they haven't since restoration. This has some nice upgrades like an AM/FM/cassette stereo and provisions for air condition. But this one absolutely still feels like a true classic with everything you want - right down to the four-wheel drive instructions bolted to the glovebox. One look under the hood, and you can tell they spent money here, too. After all, no 4x4 looks this clean without a little help (even the correct decals are present!) This is a later 2F motor, which means a larger 4.2-liter inline-six than earlier examples. This motor is part of the backbone of Toyota's sturdy reputation, and there has even been that addition of an aluminum radiator to help keep it running cool. When you reach beyond the pavement, you'll be quite happy this has a two-speed transfer case, beefy axles, and Firestone Super All Traction tires. Plus, the control of the four-speed manual transmission and power brakes are great on or off-road. This is the nicely restored FJ40 that enhances what you love best about these classic 4x4s.
