1984 Toyota Land Cruiser Additional Info:
Well, with a kid starting college this year, it’s time to reduce the number of toys in the stable. This is a great get-away truck. The original 2F engine and 4-speed transmission still pull strong but with plenty of re-powering options (including a 2.8l diesel from Cummins), this could be turned into a vehicle that could take you around the world. Twice. Lots of recent work has been done on this vehicle to keep it in great shape.
Here are the high and low points.- New suspension bushings throughout- Old Man Emu springs and shocks- Old Man Emu steering damper- Rebuilt steering knuckles- New power steering pump- New master and slave clutch cylinders- New front rotors and pads- AC reconditioned and recharged: Blows cold and cools the vehicle off very quickly- New ARB front bumper and rooftop tent rack- New custom rear bumper (see note below)- New stereo with Bluetooth (last owner installed it but kept same old speakers)- New Dash cap- New BF Goodrich T/A Radials with less than 500 miles, even the spare- No major rust- Paint is in decent shape; no major dents or evidence of repairs- Interior rear wheel well covers torn (reparable)- Missing the jack- Seat belts work just fine but could use an update
The interior is in very good condition (see photos) from the headliner to the seats. The car is currently and cleanly titled in my name, and just passed the annual inspection (good through 06/19). NOTES: The rear bumper is a kit I bought through one of the FJ forums. It’s a good bumper but needs to be braced up better before mounting the tire carrier (included with all of the mounting hardware). I may be able to complete this but no promises.
Listed mileage is as indicated by the odometer. I don’t know if this is original or if it has rolled over. The previous title did not show it and, in Texas, this vehicle is of an age that it is exempt. Engine is maintained true to original specifications.
I use Mobile 1 and last change was about 300 miles ago. Front transfer case oil is new with about 100 miles. This was done when I rebuilt the steering knuckles. I still have OEM bumpers and the original roof rack which I will send with the vehicle.
