1984 Toyota Supra Additional Info:
This 1984 Toyota Supra is in good condition for its age but needs a new/repaired engine. It has the original 5MGE 2.8L engine and 4spd auto trans with a 4.10 rear. Engine has developed a knock which mechanic says is probably piston skirt slap due to a bad bearing. The head was replaced and a complete valve job done < 5K miles ago. Rebuilt fuel injectors installed just a few hundred miles ago.
The car is lt. blue with a blue cloth interior (all original) in fairly good condition. No rips or tears in seats but rear door panel top vinyl has split in places. Everything works except cassette player and sunroof stuck in closed position (motor ok). PS/PB/PW, A/C (works), AM/FM Equalizer, pwr antenna, tilt, CC, sunroof. Body ok (no dents) but needs a re-paint and minor rust repair (sunroof panel and rear hatch spots). All major systems in good shape: brakes, exhaust, tires (<8K miles), battery (1.5 yrs), suspension, trans. In my opinion this car is worth saving with a new engine and some paint/body work but I no longer have the energy (retired) or income to do it. Could also be a candidate for complete restoration, or use as a "drifter" (cringe).
I have replaced (partial list) the following parts since I've owned (12 yrs): AFM, air hoses, sensors/relays,brakes,starter,exhaust,A/C system, radiator/hoses,heater valve, throttle body, belts, vac lines, ignition switch,ECU,alternator, coil, tie rod ends, struts and more. OEM Toyota parts used when available.
Inspections are welcome. I have attempted to describe this car as fully as possible but offer no guarantees or warranty. Payment by bank wire transfer (preferred), cash or personal check. Title/car not released until payment received. No deposit required, full payment due within 7 days (10 days for personal check to clear). Car must be picked up within 30 days of auction end. Car is driveable for short distances (20 miles?) but transport recommended. Transport is the responsibility of the buyer.
Sale includes 2 boxes of parts (most used, some new), a Haynes repair manual and a folder of repair/receipt records. Not a lot of these old MKII Supras left. Get yours here.
