1983 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 Additional Info:
This1983 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 was purchased by its previous owner in Colorado 10 years ago, and was treated to a variety of cosmetic and mechanical improvements as detailed below. I acquired it 7k miles ago in October 2015, and the odometer now shows 177,2xx total miles. Power comes from a 2F 4.2-liter inline-six paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. The factory 4×4 transfer case remains equipped, and the most recent engine oil change was reportedly completed less than 100 miles ago. This FJ60 is now being offered with an owner’s manual, clean Carfax, and a clean Massachusetts title.
This Land Cruiser appears to have a partial or complete repaint in its factory color. The shade and texture reportedly match throughout the exterior, and tape lines can be found in the door jambs. The bottoms of the rear quarter panels were replaced at some point in the past, and surface rust is currently present onthe bottom of the tailgate and inside the bottom door edges. Over 150 high-resolution photos are available.
The prior owner had decided to replace the windshield, re-chrome the OEM bumpers and wheels, replace the factory emblems and antenna, install a new front grille and headlight surrounds, and fit a pair of rare no longer available Australian-spec side-view mirrors.
Additionally, the prior owner replaced the rear brake drums and parking brake cable, rebuilt the OEM locking hubs, and powdercoated the locking hub controls. The re-chromed factory 15″ wheels are equipped with a set of 265/70 series Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo tires.
New OEMfront and rear fabric seat covers were installed by the previous owner. Additional improvements consist of replacing all five seat belts with new tensioners and factory buckles, replacing the windshield wiper linkage, having the OEM steering wheel professionally wrapped in leather, and installing new OEMradio/climate control surround trim. A new OEM inclinometer was also fitted, however it is currently inoperable.
The interior has been kept largely stock aside from a Kenwood CD player and upgraded stereo speakers. Aside from an inoperable factory clock and intermittent horn, other features and equipment are noted to work well.
Under the hood is a factory 2F 4.2-liter inline-six paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. Mechanicals have been maintained in stock specifications to the seller’s knowledge. The previous owner performed the following mechanical maintenance:
- Rebuilt factory carburetor
- Replaced vacuum hoses
- Replaced choke cable
- Replaced clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing
- Replaced rear main seal
- Replaced oil pan gasket
- Rebuilt radiator
The accident-free Carfax shows ownership in Colorado and Massachusetts, along with regular odometer readings through 2015.
