1970 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55 Additional Info:
Up for sale is a 1970 FJ55. There is no engine or transmission in the vehicle now. I can help source a Toyota engine if need be. The brake master and clutch master are present and appear to be in good shape. The wiring harness for the vehicle is present and doesn't appear to be hacked up. There are a few add on splices here and there. I don’t know the internal condition of the axles but a rebuild including new seals should be done. The frame is in good condition. I didn’t see any rot anywhere but only surface rust on it.
The body has the typical pig rot. I’ll make my way around the vehicle describing the condition the best I can. The hood is in good condition. A few of the bolts are snapped off for the hood hinge and will have to be drilled out. The vehicle had no front fenders so I hung a set I had on there. The driver side fender needs a lower patch done. The driver side rocker is bubbling in various locations. The driver door had a bunch of filler put on it to cover a dent I guess so that’s what you see on that door. The dent is pretty minimal. The rear door looks good. The rear wheel well arch is rotted through in spots. The rear quarter is rotted through as well. The tailgate looks decent although there is some filler on it. The rear sill is bubbling in a couple of spots and looks like there is some filler there. The passenger side rear quarter is rotted through in spots and there is bubbling in other spots. The wheel well arch is rotted through in a few spots. The passenger rocker is rotted through in a few spots and bubbling in others. Both doors look good. The passenger front fender also needs a lower patch done. The roof is good but there is a dent in it. It can be pushed up but another roof support or 2 should be added. The gutters all look to be in good shape. The rear and mid floor are good. The driver side floor only looks to be surface rust but there are some deeper pits. The passenger floor has a bad spot right by the body mount bolt. There are various spots of rot in the floor crossmember support tie ins to the rocker as well as the body mount supports.
The interior is something special. There was some real artistic license used. The dash is altogether and looks to be in good condition. All the doors have the internals. They’ll need to be cleaned up and lubed up to get them moving smoothly again. It’s sporting buckets in the front right now and the original rear seat that has been recovered.
I think between the pictures and the write up, the overall condition has been described completely and accurately. There are only a few small pieces missing here and there. I’ll go through my parts and add what small stuff I can find. A lot of the hard to find stuff is here and in good condition, the mirrors, rear taillights, tailgate handle. I also have a bit of a parts cache so I’m willing to work with the winner in case other parts are needed. I’m not hiding anything about this vehicle. If you need more information or photos, just ask. Please don’t bid unless you have the money and a means of getting the vehicle. I can keep it for a few weeks if we discuss that ahead of time. Ill do my best to work with any shipper. My location in PA is close to Interstate 81. I’ll require a $500 non-refundable deposit through PayPal within 24 hours of the auction end. The rest can be cash in person. The vehicle is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. If you have further questions, I can be reached at 732-778-5268. Thank you.
