I purchased the car out of NY a few years ago and have owned it for a while. Has been my weekend cruiser, grocery getter, getaway car all this time. Kept indoors in my garage, NEVER seen snow and hardly seen any rain.Previous owner did a bunch of work to it before I got it, which included a new paintjob in 2016 replacing the old, tired, faded paint that these are notorious for having. Had some rust in the rear lower quarter panels and rear doglegs behind the doors, again typical areas on these trucks. It was fixed with metal wherever possible and looks very good. Paint itself shines up nicely with only minor imperfections and a couple spots of overspray. Could use very light wetsand and buff to bring out shine 100%.
NEWLY REPLACED (within last 2 years): New battery, NEW front bumper, NEW bumper caps, NEW tires).Mechanically the truck runs and drives EXCELLENT (please watch the video!). I can easily drop anything I'm doing and take it out for a short or long trip without batting an eye. I keep it up religiously and it's been a very dependable truck for me.Engine is the original inline 6 cylinder, mated to the original automatic transmission. It's virtually all stock as you can see, with the stock CHROME wheels, stock bumpers, stock suspension and all. It's as it came off the showroom floor.
Body has all original panels from what I could tell and doors open and close well. Paint shows VERY NICELY, and although not concours perfect, it's in great shape.
Interior is original other than a reupholstered driver's bottom seat that was a bit worn when I got it. Headliner is very nice with only minor wear. Carpet is a little worn and faded as is common on these but very presentable. Door panels have general wear throughout. Dash is in overall good shape with no visible large cracks that these are notorious for. Overall, the interior is well above average.
Underside is in VERY GOOD shape with EXCELLENT frame, GOOD floorboards and looks pretty good. Some surface rust here and there that was undercoated years ago to prevent any corrosion. Couple of body mounts need replacing, but that's not a huge job. Some filler by inner wheel wells as seen in video, and one quarter sized hole by passenger rocker.
Overall this is a great truck, looks great and is very dependable and reliable. It's is however not perfect by any means. A/c seems to be connected and working but probably needs a good recharge/checkup. Faint clunking sound from rear at highway speeds over bumps from worn body mounts. Driver's side power window works but every once in a while gets stuck (may be loose connection). 4WD seems to engage fine but i've never gone off-road with it or used it in the snow. Couple of bulbs may need replacing. Faint exhaust leak as heard in video. I'm sure there are a few other small issues I can't remember so please keep in mind this is NOT a brand new truck.
