1985 Toyota MR2 Additional Info:
Beautiful 1985 Toyota MR2 being sold out of my private collection due to the acquisition of a supercharged version of the same year. Car comes from NC where it spent virtually its entire life with one owner (see Carfax). White with a black interior with 189k miles. Mid-mounted 1.6L inline-four and 5-speed manual. I have only driven this about 700 miles since I bought it in July 2016. It is a blast to drive and starts and runs and drives without any issues. The car has been stored in my HVAC controlled warehouse and was garage kept by prior owner. Services completed under my ownership include a change of all fluids in May 2017, as well as a new thermostat in 2016.
Has an accident-free Carfax, recent service records, and a clean Illinois title. Some clear coat on the roof is peeling as shown in photo. The front bumper has some small chips/scuffs as well as alligatored paint below the passenger-side headlight door. 5-spoke alloy wheels wear 195/55 R15 RS-C 2.0 tires with good tread from Starfire, a Cooper sub-brand.
Some wear on steering wheel (in pics), and there is a poorly filled crack at the top/center of the dash (in pics). I have been scouting a new dash and have seen some listed on ebay for about $200. ADual XR4120 AM/FM stereo head unit with USB/MP3 connectivity has been added but the original Toyota unit is also included. All gauges work. A/C works.
The 4A-GE 1,587ccDOHC inline-four features four-valves per cylinder and DENSO electronic port fuel injection. Identified by silver cam covers with blue/black lettering and three ribs on the block, the “Blue Top” unit delivered 112 hp when new. The Toyota Variable Induction System (T-VIS) was designed to improve low-end torque in multi-valve engines. Repairs to the fuel pump and installation of a new exhaust system were completed in 2015 (prior to me ownership) and receipts are included.
This car is unbelievably clean and in great condition. Previous owners definitely cared for this car. Driving it is a blast not only for the performance but for the constant attention it receives. If not already a collectible, certainly a future collector car!

Note: red seats in some pics were temporarily installed and then removed. They were too uncomfortable. Original stock seats were reinstalled and were much better to me.
