This 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ45 was fist sold in Praia da Marinha, Portugal and used as the commander’s vehicle for theMarinha Fire Brigade where it was routinely maintained. The second and previous owner was the Chef at the famous restaurantRei de Leitoes in Mealhada, Portugal. The seller states that just under 50k kilometers (~31k miles) beenadded in 32 years by the two previous owners. The seller imported the truck one year ago and has recently serviced the factory 3B inline-four diesel with new fluids. It is believed to be in original mechanical configuration and benefits from new tires and oil changes. This BJ45 is currently registered in the US, and is being sold on a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.

The wooden bed features fold-down sides and was built and installed before the truckwas delivered to the first owner. A mesh cage protects the rear window.
Freeborn Red (309) paint appears to be in good shape with no fading, and the factory sheet metal is free of any dents or dings. The seller notes that there is some minor surface rust on the cowl seam below the windshield. The original white 16″ steel wheels wear Bridgestone Dueler A/T tires with goodtread remaining.
Inside, the black interior lookswell-preserved with vinyl seating appearing to have seen little use.
All of the original gauges and switchgear are reported to function, aside from the bottom left knob in the center dash panel which has broken off. The odometer reads 49,887 kms (30,998 miles) which is considered by the seller to beaccurate.
The 3.4 liter inline-four 3B diesel engine is matched to an H41 4-speed manual gearbox and was good for 98hp when new. The engine was reported to have been well-maintained by the previous owners. The seller has recently replaced the fluids and saysthat the truck doesn’t smoke or leak. No service records from Portugal were handed down to the seller, though records for the fluid change and importation and registration documents are included.
