1987 Toyota Supra Additional Info:
This 87 Supra Turbo is the special "White Edition" with Pearl Essence paint and Blue Leather interior.I searched for quite a while to find one in this nice a condition. A certain future collector car and prices are following the Mark 4 models. Turbo. Stick shift and leather interior. Top of the line model. I build and restore many German cars and wanted to create a total sleeper Toyota Supra with the finest parts available. On of my Techs is into Japanese cars and he took this on as his personal project. I would say that it is 300-350 Hp. Smooth power and the boost is awesome. Just took it on a 4 hour tour of the NC mountains and it performed flawlessly. All original paint except the front passenger fender. Paint is in very good condition as this car has spent most of its life in a garage. I bought this car out of an estate in California. The owner had the car for many years and would show it all over California. He performed the much needed Head Gasket replacement. Interior is very original. The drivers seat has recently developed a few splits. The leather steering wheel has a few marks here and there. Power seats work as they should. AC and heat work well.I have had the car for a few years and have enjoyed every moment with it. The engine is very strong. If you let if sit for a week or so, it will puff a small amount of smoke at start up and then it clears up immediately. Has never bothered me. This car is a joy to drive and is quite fast for a Mark 3 Supra Turbo. I paid $9,000 for this car a few years back and have spent $5,000 upgrading and working on it. How it works
The larger Mass Air Flow housing flows 25% more air, without the factory computer knowing it.The larger fuel injectors flow 25% more fuel, without the factory computer knowing it.Since the engine is getting 25% more air AND fuel...the factory computer doesn't really know the difference.Since the computer has 25% more air "hidden" from itself, the upgraded turbo (and additional air flow) will not trigger the factory "fuel cut off".The upgraded fuel pump provides the needed extra flow for the larger fuel injectors. The fuel pressure regulator helps to prevent too much fuel flow at idle, but increases fuel pressure under boost conditons, to prevent a lean conditon. The boost controller helps control the wastegate for additional boost, but also monitors the fuel/air ratio to protect th
