1985 Toyota 4Runner Additional Info:
Selling my 4runner ive owned for 12 years,i dont have the time for it and dont do much 4wheeling anymore.I bought it in 2005,lifted and modified it and used it for wheeling and camping trips. It has a 5" skyjacker lift, rear detroit locker 5.29 gears, front hi pinion third member,,homemade rear bumper with pintle hitch,2 year old marine battery, bushwacker extended fender flares, rear disc brake conversion,hi steer kit with IFS style steering box,its been converted to a 5 speed manual trans, has 33" super swamper LTB tires, bud built crossmember with auto trans extended skidplate, factory clinometer from another 4runner,all pro front winch bumper with Warn M8000 winch,hi lift jack mounts, downey air intake with k+N style filter,JT outfitters header,2" pipe and magnaflow muffler, and honestly probably more that im forgetting Also a ridiculous amount of parts im letting go with this deal, spare 5 speed trans with top shift Tcase, spare front shift tcase, hood, both fenders, both doors, extra driver seat, roof section cut from a parts truc, spare fiberglass top, steering column, good extra starter and alternator, driveshafts, center console, intake manifolds, complete rear axle with 4.10 gears, several clutch fans, spare set of 16" wheels with 265/75/16 AT tires, wheels are rusty and tread isnt that great, knuckles and hubs for solid front axle, long side stub shaft with birfield, short side no birfield, extra 4.10 third member,22re block and head that had head gasket issues, and boxes and boxes of small parts, wiper motors, climate controls,seatbelts,etc.....i had several 4runners and pickups and saved nearly everything........your welcome to take it or leave it on the parts but dont expect a big discount if you dont want them Plus including a 1986 Service manual i picked up along the way(i know the truck is an 85,but most of the info is identical to an 86),a special 54mm thinwall socket need for the locknuts on front axle wheel bearings, pull scale for setting preload on same, and a homemade pinion flange wrench that works awesome,a partially used K+N filter kit for cleaning and oiling reusable air filter, and 3 cans of spray paint that match the truck Heres the story on the truck,it was last really used in Nov of 15,I blew the head gasket on a trip to Ohio, towed it back, decided that since this was the second time this motor had blown head gasket id just put a different engine in,got a good running 22re from a friend of a friend, installed it in spring of 16,,ran great for a day or 2 then kept cutting out, figured out that the fuel filter element had separated inside the fuel filter, blocking the outflow of fuel and starving the motor, put a different filter on it,it ran great for another few days then started missing badly, towed it home figured out that it was #3 cylinder that wasnt firing, frustrated i let the truck sit for a year, this summer i cleaned it up and tried to get it going again half heartedly but have just decided its not worth it to me anymore, truthfully i dont do much wheeling, the 2 door nature of this truck isnt ideal for me anymore and honestly i think it would be best as dedicated 4wheeler that is towed to and from the trail, not that it couldnt be brought back for some road use possibly but i dont have a big truck/trailer combo,it cranks and will sputter and start/miss but doesnt run great and will need towed it is listed for sale locally as well and auction will be pulled if local cash sale is arranged
