1977 Toyota Other Additional Info:
Up for your consideration is this very cool 1977 Toyota Pickup!
It was originally from the West Coast, spending time in California and Oregon, then to Iowa, and finally to Michigan. While it has its fair share of rust, it is much more solid than many of this era with the time it spent outside of the rust belt.
It was retired as a daily driver about a year ago, and was just brought back to life so that it could find a new home. Before being started after its hibernation an oil/filter change was done, the carb was primed, battery charged and fired it up! The exhaust rotted off, so a new intermediate pipe was installed so it was not obnoxiously loud (muffler is intact, but not stellar). The smaller master cylinder reservoir was low on fluid; new fluid was added with no leaks, but I believe some air got in the lines, as the brakes are present but not safe.
It starts right up, shifts through all 4 gears well, and without clutch slippage. Motor does smoke some when first starting up, and does have oil leaks.
Regarding the rust, the frame looks solid, but the floors and rockers are quite rotted. There is seam rust and rust in the bed as well as the fenders. Doors, tailgate and hood are solid.
Inside the original front seat has tears, the dash pad is cracked, and the opening for the stereo was hacked by a previous owner. Door panels are decent. The original floor mat is present as is the original jack. It appears that all gauges but the fuel gauge work. Emergency brake works but needs adjusting.
Then there is the sweet aluminum framed, military material cover for the bed! While the frame is made for the truck, the material (appears to be waxed cotton) is not custom made, but fits almost like it was made for the truck. It is a very unique feature!
Bid to buy - this is a NO RESERVE auction. I do require a $250 PayPal deposit with the balance to be paid in cash in person. If you are shipping the truck and will not be present to pay in cash, you can pay with check, but the truck nor the title will be released until the check clears. If you don't do PayPal, then contact me for other arrangements for the deposit. Any and all transportation of the truck is the responsibility of the buyer. This is an AS IS WHERE IS sale with no warranties or guarantees.
Clear Michigan title. Ask if you have questions. I have more photos available upon request.
