1983 Toyota HiLux Additional Info:
Selling my 1983 Toyota HiLux long box pick up truck. It is from Texas and the body is in very good shape. I was planning to do a frame off restoration with this one, but someone wants to get married soon so she must go to someone else. I have over a 100 pictures of detail areas if needed, but please only ask me to send them to you if you are interested in bidding as it takes time to send.
Ok, lets start with the body. There is no filler or bondo on this body. This is a rare color, Terra Cotta (3A7) only put on these trucks for one year if I'm correct. It is very solid, there are only 3 pin holes on it, I put a pen up to them in the pictures to show the size of them, the pickup box floor is also very solid with only a few pin holes in it as well. When I got the truck I needled all the lose paint off and just brushed some color match paint on the areas to seal them up until I could have the truck sand blasted for new paint. There are a 2 dings in the roof also shown in the picture as well as a ding on the passenger side box. I did take the carpet out of the truck and took pictures of the floor as well if someone wants to see them I can send those as well. I also have pictures of all pinch weld seems and door jams, seats, headliner, ect. Frame is very solid as seen in the pictures. Front windsheild does have a crack in it on the passenger side.
The drive line. It has the 22r motor with a 5 speed in it. It has Factory A/C and Power Steering. Miles show227k. Truck was parked in 08 and will need to be gone through before she can be driven again. About a month ago I pulled the spark plugs and fogged the cylinders, then poured some gas down the carb and the motor did pop off. I didn't run it for more than ten seconds or so, due to the fact that the radiator was empty. I was smooth with no ticks or knocks. The radiator does leak and will need to be repaired or replaced. Shifter does go through the gears smooth as well. Brakes do work as they should.
All and all this is a nice truck for someone to bring back to her glory days. If you are local and want to look it over feel free to email me your number and I'll call you so we can set up a time. I may be able to help with towing for a fair price, if you live within a 250 mile radius. Need anything just ask. This is a 5 day auction with 5 days to pay.
Truck will need to be trailered home.
