Atomic Orange · 4.2L 2F Inline 6 · 29,800 documented miles
HISTORY: The 1976 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser has become an iconic vintage 4X4 vehicle that has always held a devoted following of off road enthusiasts. Being fashioned after the Willy’s M38 Jeep that began military service in WWII, the FJ40 was developed for the world market to go head to head with Land Rover and over little time, Toyota’s FJ 40 proved to be much more rugged and reliable in all demanding situations. These trucks are legendary in off-roading groups for being reliable and extremely agile due to their short wheel base. Given their track record in some pretty inhospitable places well it’s easy to see why these are growing tremendously in market value. However, all those wonderful features also make finding a nice one challenging since so many of these trucks have been bashed abused and just plain used up in the years before they were on the collectors A-list.
Fortunately, this one is extremely clean with an awesome electric 4 stage metallic paint job and glossy black removable hardtop that looks at home in the wilderness or arriving to tonight’s movie premier. This vehicle was specially ordered from the factory with the following options: removable hard top, fold down windscreen, rear flip down seats, dual floor gear selector shifter, rear heater, ambulance style rear doors, front tow hooks, and 3” lift springs.
My FJ40 is one of the cleanest and most up to date of the world renowned off road legend,
EXTERIOR: The modifications to the exterior are minimal: BTB custom front and rear bumpers with a built-in tow attachments and integrated LED’s and 7000K adjustable PIAA fog lights. All bumpers were custom powder coated in orange metallic black, and an Aries™ Grille Guard mounted to the factory holes. All incandescent light bulbs have been replaced with bright LED’s (Extras available). No attention to detail was forgotten, with metallic orange flakes in the gloss black paint on everything from wheels, exhaust tip, undercarriage, bumpers, grills, gauges to the roof.
Paint: This example was the recipient of a full— body-off restoration finished in 2015 at Big Sky Cruisers in Montana - the color chosen is Chevrolet Atomic Orange tri-color- 4 stage metallic. This $11,000 job coats even the most obscure areas in show quality paint! Built from the ground up, the frame was stripped all the way down to bare metal and powder coated in gloss black. The well-executed restoration was just professionally re-polished 05/04/2017 at LA’s best- Pristine Automotive in West Hollywood, CA.
INTERIOR: You’ll find the interior is far more civilized than you’d expect for a world traveler like this; boasting comfortable high-back bucket seats, new interior upholstery, headliner, seat belts, center console as of 2016. The windows are smooth as butter. The twin folding seats in back expand passenger capacity and with durable non-slip rubber mat. The stereo in this thing stellar- with the clearest highs, and the right amount of bass! Factory options included: dual floor shifter. The custom roll bar, recently reupholstered front bucket and rear flip down seats, rear heater, ambulance style rear doors.
Sound System: There are custom enclosures built into roll cage featuring Memphis Audio speakers: (2- 6.5”/ 2- 4”/2- 1.5” tweeters). An Alpine deck complete with Bluetooth music and a custom mic for truly clear phone conversations is fully customizable with lighting and build in equalizer. The ventilated stereo amplifier and equalizer are hidden under the driver seat.
TECHNOLIGY With features such as full LED’s and HID lights, digital OIL and Volt gauges, push button start, Bluetooth music and phone, fuel injection, lumbar supporting seats, and a 1,000 watt sound system you’re sure to enjoy the ride!
ENGINE: This truck features the ultra-reliable, unmolested, matching numbers 2F 4.2 liter inline 6-cylinder engine, 4 speed transmission and what many consider the best 4-wheel drive system known to man. There is fuel injection to alleviate some of the plaguing issues with carbonated engines.
The car starts right up with no smoke, runs, drives and performs excellent in all areas. Other highlights include, New exhaust, fully detailed engine bay, rock solid - rust free- frame,
SUSPENSION & BRAKES: Just installed Rancho 9000MT shocks, 3” factory optional lift, Warn locking hubs, stainless steel hardware throughout, and meaty 33x12.5R15 inch all terrain tires.
