1972 Toyota Land Cruiser Additional Info:
This 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 is a hardtop modelwith just over 58k miles that was first sold to an Aspen, Colorado couple. They kept the truck for 40 years until it was purchased by a local retired US postal carrier who repainted the body and reupholstered the seats. FJ has recently had the door seals and window felts replaced and there was only minor surface found in all the "trouble" spots on the truck. There are some areas with bondo but it was used to fill in dents rather than full body deterioration. New Bilstein shocks were installed on both the front and rear. Brakes are original but were redone and the stopping power is as new. The 3.8 liter F engine is matched to a 3-speed manual gearbox runs strong, though no service records were handed down from the previous owners. The truck is being sold on a clean Colorado title in my name.
The previous owner repainted the truck in its original Freeborn Red (309), and the finish shows wear in some areas. New hood latches and side mirrors have beenadded, and the fiberglass top needs some attention. There are no cracks on the top but there is a small gap that could be easily fixed. To bring this truck up to a superb level the new owner will only need to give the top a gel coat and a professional paint job. Although the paint is holding up well, I would give the paint job a 6 out of 10. These trucks were meant to get out on the trail and scratched up a bit anyhow. Also has a new headliner, radio and center console.
I wouldn't hesitate to take this truck over any mountain pass but I'm really only using it sparingly to hit the town. The new owner will have a truck they can enjoy right out of the box and make improvements as they see fit.
Good luck! I'm willing to deliver the truck for an extra fee.
