Truly interested in buying this Toyota Surf ? I know buying a vehicle without the benefit of being there to inspect it can raise a lot of questions, and these questions are most efficiently answered 'live' on the telephone, just like dad used to do it! I tend to judge the seriousness of a potential buyer by if they reach out with a call (Serious) or send a text message or email (not quite so serious) and reply accordingly. I do not have a lot of time to answer questions about the vehicles for sale, so please reach out with a call.
We just brought this 1992 Toyota Surf in for my wife to drive, as her car has been plagued with problems, and she wanted something safe/ unusual/ cute/ that got great mileage and that she would not lose her money on buying. After a week of dealing with the Right Hand Drive situation, she wants to throw in the towel and buy something else. There is a lot of potential here in this 4-Runner/ Surf, but she has made here decision to pass it along to the next lucky person. Speedo showing 186-187000 KM, which translates to about 115,000 original miles.
This Toyota appears to be all original. Seats, carpe, headliner all look great. Like, perfect. Dash is perfect. Everything seems to work, except the speedometer... WE are buying a new speed sensor for it, and this should fix it, but in the meantime it does not keep track of speed.
Body is super-straight with no rust at all in body. Paint looks awesome, but as you get right up on it, there are a few faded spots in the clear coat on the roof, and a few small foggy spots on clear coat on drivers door. Otherwis, I would say it looks about perfect. Sunroof panel (glass? Plexi?) has a crack in it that you can see, but this does not affect operation, or let in any rain/ etc. This is the original piece, and again, it works perfectly, you can just see a small crack running through it.
Underneath, frame has surface rust on it - Front suspension parts have some surface rust, but this truck had one year left of its most recent safety inspection in the UK, which indicates that it was just surface rust and truck was perfectly safe to drive. In fact, in order to pass this safety test (MOT, all lights have to function, brakes have to be thick, tires good, horn works, no suspension problems or leaking. Ready to use / drive and enjoy!
Truck was a JDM truck that went to England. Was with one owner for 13 years, and was loved and taken great care of. I legally imported this, and have all paperwork to obtain title in your state. If you are in California and want to buy this truck, I will get title for you here in Georgia so you can title/ register/ drive in your state with no troubles. Any confusion about any of this so far? Reach out, I am happy to answer your questions.
Tires on truck here are brand-new. Like, they have 7 miles on them so far. Sticker from tire store is still on the face (tread) of one of the tires.
I had to buy a brand-new battery for the truck (good for new owner, and truck starts right up easily from cold. Transmission shifts perfectly, and transfer case operates as it should, both hi and low range select and work without issue.
This truck is loaded with all the bells and whistles available at this time. In fact, it has more bells and whistles on it than my 2007 Land Rover LR3 --- This has an electronically selectable suspension (soft or hard, sport or regular transmission modes, central locking, all power windows and rear window work.
Air conditioning is all hooked u, but does not blow cold. Most likely needs a charge of freon. Heater works great, and rear seat passengers have their own heater controls and outlet.
I think this truck is terrific, and I would prefer to keep it.. but I am not paying for another car for the Missus. She will have to sell this one to get her next. Everywhere we have gone in this truck it gets a lot of attention.
Please be aware this truck is for sale right no, and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. If you want to buy it, be sure to bid fast and bid early. If you want to sit back and see where the auction goes before you get involved, you'll see the auction end days before it was scheduled to as a real buyer called me and purchased the vehicle.
I have a business putting turbo diesel engines in Land Rovers, and as such I have trucks transported all over the USA - I can get a great rate if you need to have the truck shipped to your home. I would prefer if you can came and see the Toyota in the flesh before buying, but it will likely sell fast. But call to make an appointment if you can do it. Transport will be anywhere from $200 - $950 anywhere in the lower 48 states to you.
We here in the USA never got these cool turbo - diesel Toyotas - I am sure they would have been very popular and outsold the gasoline versions we did get. Peppy on the road, cruises at 70MPH or better, and gets near to 30MPG (or even better if you drive carefully) - Transmission shifts great, and has a great sounding radio/ stereo - Ready for a road trip? This would make a great truck to do it in.
These do not pop up for sale often, and the ones I have seen have sold for a lot of money. Get a great deal on this one and enjoy for many years to come. Don't wait and lose out, bid now, and if you have any questions be sure to reach out to me for fast answers.
