1983 Toyota Celica st Additional Info:
This 1983 Toyota Celica ST coupe is a true survivor car being offered for sale from a private collection with lots of historical documentation.
This car was purchased new in Beaverton Oregon (where it was dealer-serviced) until 1992, when it was relocated to the Phoenix area.
Service history: In 2007, a repaint was performed in the original paint. Also in 2007, she received a transmission rebuild, new leather upholstery, a set of Supra wheels, new stereo and speakers, and additional maintenance items. In 2010, she received a water pump, fan clutch, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, fuel pump, heater hoses, and additional maintenance items. Also, her seat belts were replaced under a factory warranty advisement. In 2014, her carburetor was rebuilt, and in 2016 she received a new alternator, battery, belts, spark plugs, radiator hoses, and all fluids and filters were flushed and changed.
The original window sticker is included. The undercarriage is rust-free, the paint is glossy and uniform, and the interior is remarkable, with minimal wear and an uncracked dash from being garaged. All gauges work well (even the clock)!
The original rubber trunk mat is present and intact, and the trunk shows no signs of corrosion or wear. Underhood, the same story - clean, well-maintained, and original.
Driving impressions: Behind the wheel, this car is a joy. Steering is manual, as are the windows and locks. The engine starts quickly, and the 5-speed transmission works flawlessly. The 22R engine retains its original eagerness, and the car runs and handles as it did when new. Mileage is accurate based on a review of the historical documents (which will be provided to the new owner).
Cosmetic flaws are minor, but are described as follows: There is a slight dent in the passenger side front wheelwell lip (pictured). There are two chips in the windshield. The leather shifter boot is aging and should be replaced. There is some damage to the paint beneath the fuel door, assumed to be from fuel spillage right after the repaint (?). The black trim around the windows has lost some adhesion, revealing the chrome surface underneath. Other than that, there are no glaring issues or apparent flaws.
Mechanical flaws: None noted, although the car is in need of new tires. These were not replaced, due to the possibility of the winning bidder wanting a different size or style.
The winning buyer will be proud to display this Celica at any classic event, show, or cruise.
