1985 Toyota 4Runner Additional Info:
1985 Toyota 4 Runner.2nd Owner, Have had for 23 years. All modifications from stock have been done by myself. Truck is from San Diego, never has been a winter driver. Body and frame are rust free and very clean. This is a rare model that came out in 1985 & 1/2. Fuel Injected 22RE with the AISIN A340H - 4 speed electronic automatic. This was the predecessor to the 1986 models that lost the solid front axle. Basically the same drivetrain as a Land Cruiser of the same year, just in the 22RE engine. The AISIN A340H transmission is fully electronic and has a lock up converter as well as a hydro transfer case that gives you the ability to shift from 4H to 4L on the fly. This really gives the truck rock crawling ability. I had the same truck in a 5-speed stick and kept the 4 Runner due to it's ability to climb without frying a clutch. Here are the modifications:- New head, LC Engineering with their camshaft.- Doug Thorley header, 2-1/4" exhaust in full.- 2005 Toyota Land Cruiser front brakes (they are vented rather than solid rotors as solid were stock)- Teflon stainless braided brake lines.- Removal of the factory Toyota rear weight sensor for even braking disbursement offroad.- 5.29 gears for crawling- Detroit Locker Rear (full Detroit, not a spider gear replacement)- Full 5" spring lift - no spacers- 1" Body Lift - Welded steel inserts - no rubber spacers. Gives a little extra tire clearance.- HD shackles all 4 corners- BG high flow transmission cooler- Remote transmission and oil filters - quick change PH-8A filters.- Custom front and rear bumper with front and rear winch mount. You can move the winch to the front or rear. No 2 copper wiring is integral to the body and you just plug it in to where you need it.- 6 Speaker stereo, Alpine & Fosgate amp and speakers.- Tires are currently near new 33" All terrains. These would allow it to fit into the garage. I typically ran Dick Cepek 34x13.5 Bias desert dualers. They will fit just fine and take you just about anywhere.- Centerline 5-Spokes (vintage to the vehicle!!)- Always ran AMSOIL in transmission, engine and differentials.I am selling as we do not use it near anymore. Needs a good home. Is registered and insured in PA. Garage kept. I can't stand to see it just sit year after year. This truck is meant for a Toyota enthusiast. It does need the catalytic converter removed and eventually a slip joint in the rear driveshaft. You notice it over 70MPH. I think the cat is a non issue as most states consider this a vintage or antique vehicle at this point. Finally, I would consider this more a hobby vehicle. I always had it as so but did drive it from PA to CA and UT several times over but at this point I would rather not see someone drive it in the salt - but that is your call.Buyer assumes all shipping, tax and other charges that apply to the transfer of sale. Wire Transfer or Cashiers Check in advance of vehicles removal from property. Thanks for looking!2-14-17Folks were asking for more pictures. I have shown the rockers - rust free, no rust on frame or UC. Drove it around today to get the fuel flowing. Plus a few other shots. Has a new AGM Battery as well as shown. Just to add I have the right to pull this as the vehicle is for sale locally. Thanks
