1989 Toyota Corolla Additional Info:
Please check my feedback anything I sell is my private property and I try hard to list any flaws from perfect. You will get no surprises.
This is my classic 1989 all Japan made Corolla with low miles. I bought this car almost 2 decades ago when it had 29,000 on it and never had any issues besides normal items that wear out. Even those have been minor. They used to make these cars to last 300,000 miles before a major engine failure so it's barely broke in. A few items I have replaced- the battery last month with an expensive one, a few years ago I replaced the alternator and radiator, and I replaced and converted the entire air conditioning system 2 years ago with the work done by a licensed mechanic. It gets as cold as a new car would. I also replaced a leaking oil seal about 3 years ago so no leaks.
The car starts and runs perfectly, even after sitting a week or more, these Japanese models seemed to never wear out. It does not run hot, or get warm even on the hottest days. There are no smoke issues, no burning oil, valve or crank knocks. It runs about like new, though sometimes in the summer the idle might go slightly high by a few hundred rpm for a few miles if the A/C is on, and then it corrects itself. Last summer it did not do it at all, and my mechanic has never been able to isolate it since it comes and goes. Anyway, it's not a big deal and does not affect anything while driving, but I like to list everything I can think of. Besides that it purrs at any speed, from 20 to 75 on the highway with no rattle or shake. It has a firm and solid suspension and front end so there is no steering wheel shake or sloppiness. The Tires are in good shape, though the back drivers side one does lose air once a week so it may have a small nail somewhere. One of the rear tail lights got cracked, I temporarily covered it with some tape, and like most things "temporary" I never got around to replacing it. The headliner is finally starting to come down though it's not bad enough to be replaced yet. The shifter indicator plastic finally cracked so it has a coating over it.
Generally the car has a very few little minor things as its only issues. The 3 speed transmission shifts like new, the motor, electrical, exhaust, brakes, and all other mechanical systems are fine, except it will need a driver side CV joint eventually. I have been meaning to get to that but it's not clicking too bad yet. That's about all I can think of that it needs. I have always driven it just enough to keep things lubricated and charged up, but it's never been my primary car so that's why it has such low miles for the year. I kept this one for when my other car was in the shop. Now I just inherited a 3rd car, so it's just taking up space and someone else may be able to use it daily or as a backup..The car is Super dependable and I would not hesitate to drive it cross country and back.
Located in Florida most of its life so no salt, or beach use, and no rust. It could use a paint job however. There are no dents and very few dings period. Basically It's a solid car that needs nothing to run, and will run another decade with few issues if given normal maintenance.
