1978 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ43 Convertible Additional Info:
I am selling my personal car that I own since September 13th 1996.
The correct VIN is: BJ43002668.
I purchased that car from a local Fire Department when it was put out of commission due to new regulations and they were looking to renew the fleet. The car was delivered to the dealership from the Japanese factory with a soft top, 24 Volts beacon, a siren, rear bench, books and tools exactly as seen today.
The red color by the firewall and inside the car is from factory and the Fire Department repainted it, when brand new, with their own red color as any Fire truck.
Since I own the car, it remained 100% all original. From the interior to the motor and the soft top, the car is untouched. I still have the original tools and the books from factory. The plaque with the name of the dealership is still covered with the clear plastic.
The beacon is in working condition. The siren had to be put out of order due to the Florida Highway Inspection and regulations.
The car was freshen up 20 years ago with a coat of paint, matching the Fire Department paint code and then was stored along with my other vehicle.
The clear plastics on the side and back of the soft top were replaced few month ago.
This rare vehicle is 100% original and untouched. Meaning, there is NO rust, No welded plated to covered holes, NO "Bondo", NO mastic, NOTHING.
And YES, the floor mats is from day 1, same for the Soft Top, zippers, straps, motor, gear box, transfer case, PTO, yellow front light bulbs ... all original from day 1 from factory.
The car was driven few thousand kilometers before I bought it. It was largely used locally and for parades. Then I added myself few thousand kilometers and now totals 12382 Kilometers.
That's 7969 Miles.
Before being imported, the car passed all national inspections, for technical or mechanical issues and required to obtain a registration and mandatory every 5 years. Again, nothing has been changed or added to the car and the last inspection done on May 17th 2016, showed the following: 1) a burnt light bulb for the license plate ..... has been fixed. 2) Rear right tail light bulb out .... has been fixed.
And that's it.
I am selling my collection and the cars need to go. I did not set a limit for the high or low offers but connoisseurs know how much they are worth.
I have the free and clear Florida Title on hand.
Thank you and happy bidding.
