1971 Toyota Other saloon wagon Additional Info:
I'm selling my 1971 Toyota Crown Wagon.
I had the car for 4 years. I bought it from someone from California for 7000.00 paid 1500 for shipping to Philadelphia pa. The car came with a 7mgte with a r154 transmission. I wanted to build a bad air ride low riding turbo beach cruiser.
Body
I decided to get body work done to her. I got a professional shop to take everything apart. repair all the rust and paint inside and outside classic Toyota white from 1971. I paid almost 6-7 k in body work and repair. There is no rust on the wagon, floors was patched and underneath the car is coated and the frame rail is perfect and also coated. Engine bay as well has been painted as well as inside the interior body. I have receipts for body work done.
Suspension
So half way when the bodywork was getting done I had them stop and sent my wagon out to get a full airride system install. There wasn't any kit available for this model so I had someone did a full custom kit with quality parts and he did a great job. There is two tanks. I had him hide the tanks so I could still keep the third row option. The airride is an update kit so it has a expensive remote to control it. He did some custom mounts and etc to make everything work but it turn out real clean. It was fully tested and sent back to shop when its done. I paid 5500 parts/labor.
Engine.
So the car came with a 7mgte originally. It had a megasquirt that was really out of date. I got the car rewire and put back an original ecu. The motor was said to be redone with new head bolts torque down to a stronger spec. Bearing was change, metal headgasket etc. Has custom intercooler and exhaust that isn't that pretty but work from the last owner. I wanted to get body work and suspension done. Test out the 7mgte to see if I want to keep it or do a 1j or 2jzgte but decided that I could work with this motor since I'm not shooting for power cause this was more of a cruiser. I paid over 1500 for some minor changes to the swap.
Transmission
It still has an r154 trans the only thing was I decided to get it fully rebuilt with new parts. That costed me 1400 for a complete rebuilt.
Paper work.
So when I bought this wagon from California the owner didn't tell me or change the title back to US title. He sold the car to someone in Canada which he got it title there and then when I got it. It was title in Canada so I had to get it inspected and jump thru hoops to figure out to title this back to US title like it was originally. That was a lot of work but I got it all done. Spend like 500 dollars or more to switch it back.
Interior.
This was a California car so the interior was rotted when I got it. The front seats and rear bench seat is redone. But panels, carpet, middle seat, dash needs to be redone or custom made.
Cons.
I'll be honest this is a rare wagon, you wont see that much crowns in the USA. I think there is maybe only 3-4 wagons like this in USA. This project is not done. I honestly lost interest and could rather use the money for something else not car related. Its really hard to find parts for this wagon but I basically have everything to put her back together the same way I bought her. I got most of the major part of the car done its just a lot of little things to get her back together.
Total spend on this car.
23,900. I know I wont get all my money so please made me a decent offer and not an insulting one.
