1970 FJ Land Cruiser Toyota
I have for sale, at NO RESERVE, a 1970 FJ Cruiser. I don't know much about these, as I generally deal in old farm trucks, but, along the way, I do run across other old vehicles on these Kansas farms. This came from a farm just west of me, here in central Kansas. The gentleman who owned it recently passed away, and I bought it from his widow. He would go on hunting trips everyyear to states north of us, and he would take this with him to get through the trails and back country. This cruiser was last tagged in 1998, and that was the last time it was driven. Evidentially on his last trip he hit a stump, or rock or something, as the tie rod and steering stabilizer shock were bent. I took one end of the stabilizer off, as it wouldn't collapse into itself to allow you to steer. Now it will steer.
As you can see in the pictures, there is some rust, and someone had done some rust repair many years ago. What you see in the pictures, is all the rust there is.The rust repairs appear to have been limited to cab corners and rockers. The floors are rock solid. The tires are totally shot, but they will hold air for an hour or two for loading and unloading purposes. I did get the cruiser running with minimal effort. Battery, fresh gas, and cleaning the points. It actually sounds pretty good, revs smooth, but idles rough and smells like rotten gas and old oil. I filled the master cylinder for the clutch and the brakes, and after some pumping, they are both starting to work, but need to be bled and checked over to work properly. As you see it, is basicallyhow it came from the farm, with the exception of me rinsing it off, and vacuuming out some dirt. The odometer shows 53k miles, I'm sure its probably 153, but have no way of knowing. It does have a rebuilt title from years ago. All of the glass is in very good condition, with the exception of the driver wingwindow, which has been replaced with a piece of plexiglass. There is some old tinting on the windows that looks a little funny in pictures, but glass is good. Basically this was a driving, usable vehicle (with the exception of the steering shock) when it was parked 18 years ago. 18 years is quite awhile for a vehicle to sit, so please take this into consideration when bidding. Its an awesome little cruiser, but is going to need a little tlc to get it into daily driver condition again. I do respond to eBay questions, but don't always check it everyday, so for a quicker response, please call or text Cort at 620-786-5172. And please ask any questions you have prior to bidding, as I want you to know exactly what you are getting, and also want to maintain my 100% positive feedback. I'm flexible on storage as long as paid for in a timely manner. This vehicle will need a battery. You can bring one with you, or I have one to use for loading purposes, or for my cost (approx. 75.00) I'll put a new one in for you. Thank you and good luck.
