1972 Suzuki Other Additional Info:
This is a very nice, unmolested, mostly original 1972 LJ20V. They are very rare to to find at all, let alone in this kind of condition and low mileage. The previous owner was a body-shop owner and very respectfully addressed the areas of rust (mostly surface rust) by either neutralizing them or carefully repairing the areas.
For those of you not familiar....it is 4wd with a 350 cc liquid cooled two stroke engine. It is dreadfully slow with a max speed around 43 mph.
This is a pretty cool vehicle in the respect that everywhere you go....it is a SUPERSTAR! Don't buy it unless you like talking to people....at the gas station, at stop lights, even while driving. Even in its aged, patina-ed condition, it will rule over any car show. It will bring more smiles into your life than any other vehicle....its just that darn cute!
It also has a custom front bumper with a winch that has been very handy in recovering my zero turn mower when I get it stuck in the mud. LOL.
I am selling it because I really have not been driving it that much and I feel that it is time to move it to the next person who will love it.
It always starts and runs well....smokey at first until the exhaust clears itself out (NOTE: It is a 2 stroke). It has a new water hoses, motor mounts and the radiator has been serviced. The tires are all newer and only have a few hundred miles on them.
Obviously, there are some areas of rust...The are a few small holes in the floor under the feet but these have been neutralized and patched with fiberglass to protect the originality. I have done my best to take pictures of any areas that stand out but overall, it's really not bad. It is perfect for either restoring or just leaving as is as a survivor.
NOTE: The temp gauge is not working so I have been reluctant to drive it very far until that gets sorted out. I assume that it is probably the thermostat (and I have a couple spares that will be included) but that will be for the new owner to figure out. Considering that it is the simplest motor in the world....should be pretty easy to figure out. I just don't have the time.
Keep in mind this is a 47 year old vehicle...there is no warranty or guarantees after purchase. I have represented this vehicle in the most honest way that I can, however...I am neither a mechanic or an LJ20 specialist. This vehicle is sold "as-is".I encourage that any prospective buyers do a pre-purchase inspection.
I will be glad to assist your shipping agent in any way that I can.
The reserve has been set at a reasonable $7000.00
