1987 Suzuki Samurai JX Additional Info:

1987 Suzuki Samurai SJ413 "Tintop". I'll preface this description by noting I'm Samurai enthusiast, an addict really. 15 years and counting. Of the 5 tintop's I've had the privilege of owning this is one of the cleanest. For that reason I've worked to keep this as original as possible, but there are some upgrades aimed at reliability and comfort. I'm fairly certain based on the condition and history this has just under 108k miles on it. (Samurai's odometers roll at 100k). It has been repainted. This repaint isn't bad, but it's also not a show car. There are a few spots mainly on the fender flairs (plastic that flexes) where some paint has come off exposing the original charcoal grey. The passenger's front top corner has been damaged at one point. See the picture from inside. It was hammered on. It's not apparent from the outside, because it's a separate piece of metal on the roof. The windshield frame is fine. The drivers door has also been repainted. You can tell that the shade is slightly different if you look closely.
That's the bad. Here's the good:
Interior is in great condition
Engine has 170-175lbs of compression across all cylinders
Weber carb with electric choke - requires one or two pedal pumps prior to starting when cold, but very simple and reliable
New clutch with less than 50 miles
No rust. I mean no rust. All the common areas of a Tintop from the back hatch seal, to the battery tray, to the windshield frame, and even under the master cylinder. None.
Comfortable non stock front seats
Complete stock folding rear seat with functioning rear seat belts
Stock original carpet in great condition.
Aftermarket Kenwood CD deck
Transmission and T-case are tight with no leaks.
Hopefully the pictures speak for themselves. This is a great little Tintop.
