If you like being a part of history here is your chance. In 1958 Studebaker built 15 of these 4X4 for domestic sale. This is one of only two known to exist today.
I am selling this for a friend and will accept all correspondence. You may call me at 845-224-7934 if you have questions.
The best I can say is this truck has been returned to better than factory specs. The restoration is one year old and has been driven during the summer.
I will only mention a few items here but, note that every bolt, nut, screw and clip was removed, cleaned and reinstalled. If it was not usable in perfect condition it was replaced.
For example, New constant velocity joints for the front axle are no longer available, they were sent to a shop that rebuilds them, they are as good or better than new.
The complete rear brake system was taken from a 1964 Studebaker truck and the system front and back are star wheel adjustable.
The axles were changed from 4:88 to 4:09 to give the truck better road travel.
New lock out hubs were installed which keep the front axle from turning when not locked into 4 wheel drive. The truck drives straight as a two wheel drive truck.
The engine was remanufactured to new specs with new carburetor and exhaust.
A real rarity for Studebaker 4X4 trucks is the gas tank. This one is like new.
New gages for the dash were found and installed. The Speedometer read zero when placed into service.
The truck is a pleasure to drive and attracts a lot of attention.
