This 1962 Studebaker Champ 1/2 Ton Pickup is a nicely restored half-ton pickup with southern history and is ready to roll! When the Champ debuted in 1960, Studebaker was coming off a brief upswing in financial fortunes due to the sales success of the Lark. With the increased cash flow from the Lark's success, the struggling South Bend company was able to finally reinvigorate its truck division which had a long history but was lagging at the time. Introduced in 1960, the Champ was Studebaker's new light-duty Pickup which used borrowed parts from the Lark that were adapted for its new truck. By 1962, Studebaker's financial troubles had worsened, with the company ultimately exiting the automotive business in 1966. Despite the fact that the Larks had been restyled in '62, the Champs retained mostly the same look from the previous year.
