1941 Studebaker Commander Additional Info:
You are bidding on a 1941 Studebaker Commander Custom Cruising Sedan. It is being offered with NO RESERVE.The Commander is powered by a 226 cubic inch six cylinder engine and is equipped with an overdrive transmission. The car was restored by the previous owner in the mid-to-late 1990's and last licensed in 2015. Car has been in storage since that time. Mileage shown is 90,442 but actual mileage is unknown. Itruns, drives and stops but should not be considered roadworthy.
Exterior: The Commander's paint is in excellent condition with very few blemishes. There are some minor paint chips on the lower edges of the fenders (see pictures) and some paint touch-up is visible on rear valence panel between bumper and trunk. Brightwork is in excellent condition, though the fog lights show thin chrome in places (see pictures) and there are some very minor dings in the rocker panel trim. Rear window gasket shows deterioration. A chip is present on the driver's side windshield glass.
Interior: The interior appears to have been re-done and is in very good condition (see pictures). Interior exhibits a very minor musty smell. Carpet shows minor wear and tear. New window frame insets were installed by the previous owner. Radio is inoperable.
Mechanical: Car was received after having sat for an extended period of time.Car runs, drives and stops, but should not be considered roadworthy. Engine shows good oil pressure. Coolant leaks out of water pump shaft seal when engine is warm and running. Carburetor had stuck float, and car struggles to idle smoothly. Brakes will stop car, but overall condition is unknown. Hill holder is operational. Coolant and oil were changed when car was received.
Structural: Frame and undercarriage appear sound and rust free.
