Some history on this Studebaker Cruiser.
I purchased tocaralmost 20 years ago from Billingham,
Washington and had it shipped to Virginia.
I went clear across the country to find a nearly rust free car.
This Car is actually the 2ndCruiser built for the 1964 Model year and was used in the
1963 Portland International Auto Show to introduce the redesigned Lark Studebakers.
The body number is 64V-YS 102. The Serial Number (VIN) to this car is 64V-1014.
The engine number
Is PH38 and is original to the car, showing on the build sheet.
Mylong rangeplan in building the car was to add a supercharger and
gain perhaps 100+ HP over
naturally aspirated for a nice 4 DR odd-car sleeper.
I had my own business and cash flow was not a problem
but things change
and the supercharger mod never happened.
Besides the car has plenty of power like it is,
up from the stock 210 HP 289 2bbl to approx. 290 with R2+ cam,
Modified heads and 4-bbl. carb.
I built up the engine using the best parts and advise from the most knowledgeable
individuals involved with Studebaker Performance. Fast forward to middle age:
I still love the car but don’t have time to enjoy it. It’s a solid Dependable Driver.
Its been in my warehouse for a few years taken out occasionally but deserves more.
The engine is numbers matching to the original build sheet.
I also have the original Borg Warner Transmission, cross member&
Converter with no problems when taken out. The original heads,
again no issues when taken out, are pictured.
I will include all original parts I still have withcarintrunk.
Including: original Distributor and Trans dust cover along with
Original yellow Valve covers and all four-(4) hubcaps.
YesI cut a big hole in the hood for the scoop.
At the time I had another Bordeaux red hood but it went to a buddiesDatona.
Hoods are not hard to find.
I have pictured the trunk floor so you can see how solid this car is.
It was never re-painted as original paint is still almost intact.
I going to let my Cruiser go without any hope of recovering the money,
much less the time, I have in it.
I do have a standing offer locally here in VA and if the car doesn’t reach that low offer
it will not sell onebay, naturally.

And the Bad/Never got to it…
Headliner coming unstitched nearrearwindow.
Window lace is worn and should be replaced.
Carpet is new but could be installed better; not secured tofirewall.
Needs aluminum sill plates.
Some door rubber did not go back on after paint.
I had purchasednewrubber and had intended to install but
a divorce and move later it got away.
Interior is presentable, not show quality but nice. Headliner can bere-stiched.
The Dash cap is age cracked and should be replaced. It has a carpet Cap on it now.
New Master Cylinder Top not fitting well and weeps fluid.
There is a paint drip on passenger door side from cold December air hitting wet paint,
never bother me so I never had it addressed, can be blocked and sanded out.
Tires are now 14 years old and showing age, should be replaced
beforetomany bombing runs.
Radio is Stock AM Studebaker and not hooked up. I like the sound of the engine.
Needs a better Carburetor Than the new Street Demon.
The original build had a modified for Studie Holley Mopar air gap intake,
adaptor plates, and a 575 Vacuum Secondary Grant Speed Demon and
there was a significant difference in low end.
But when I had it off for tuning it fell off a shelf and broke BOTH fuel bowels.
So I got the Street Demon on the cheap.
Since I wasen't driving it much in the last few years that’s where it is at now.
The grill is blacked out currently.
The first photo with silver grill is from a newspaper photo taken at a skate contest
my son was in with the caption
"Voted Best Ride to Skate Competition"
